Today we are back with another layout using the March kit.  Design team member, Camilla Ekman created this sweet layout.  The Pion Designs paper that is featured in this month's kit is so easy to work with, and so beautiful to look at!

Challenge Update

Happy Monday, everyone!  We would first like to announce the winner of our Red & Pink Challenge.  Congratulations to Bellidea who was chosen the winner by a random draw.  She will receive an RAK from C'est Magnifique.  Here is her beautiful layout, "I Believe in Pink".

Now it's TIME for a new challenge.  Sorry, but I couldn't resist.  This week our challenge is all about TIME.  We would like for you to somehow tie the word 'time' to your layout.  You could use a clock on your layout, use the word 'time' in your title, create a 'now and then' layout, or anything else you can think of.  If it isn't obvious how you have used the theme of 'time' in your layout, please be sure to let us know.

You will have until Sunday, March 11 at 12 midnight EST to post your layout in our gallery.  We will have a folder for the Time Challenge.  The winner will be chosen by a random draw, and will receive an RAK from C'est Magnifique.

We ask that you upload only newly created layouts for this challenge.

We think this one will be fun, and we look forward to seeing how you use this theme on your layout!

Another look at the March Kit

Now, I'd like to share one of my layouts with you.  Green is one of my favorite colors, so I was thrilled to see a beautiful shade of green in this month's kit. The paper from Pion Designs is amazing. It is so easy to create an instant background for your layout with the beautiful borders. I've used a photo of my niece, who is a dancer. She is just as sweet as she is beautiful.

I used some Gesso, Distress Ink, and a Viva Decor Pearl Pen from my stash.

Leslie's Boy Layout

Leslie, the owner of C'est Magnifique created this layout of her darling grandson.

She told us this about her layout:

"This is my adorable little grandson that I keep making 'girly' flowered layouts for, lol. That boy has me wrapped around his little finger, for sure.

So for this layout I glued 2 half sheets of paper side by side and inked one of the borders from the add-on a bright red, running it down the seam. I just wanted that bold pop of color and I tried to tie it in with the embellies by inking the wood berries too. I then used one of the bird cage rubons and I must say - those go on so smoothly! From there I really just layered some of the postcards from the paper, some flowers and some of the mistable canvas pieces. I did ink one of the DA pieces black and it's hidden in there as well.

To finish, I inked the edges with the red first and then some black."

Beverly's March Kit Layout

Design Team member, Beverly Sams, chose to use a beach photo with this beautiful kit. 

Here's what Beverly told us about this layout:

"To me, the best time of day anywhere, especially at the beach, is right before sundown. The day has cooled down, the shadows are long and the crowd disappears. My cousin and her little boy and girl enjoying the water's edge. This photo was so well suited for the papers from Pion. The leaves and the alpha (like this) was cut from the patterned paper from the collection. I used Sea Glass Glimmer mist from Tattered Angels on the resist canvas. All items were from the main kit except as follows" ~

Challenge Update

Here are the details about new challenge:

We all have photos that have some blank space on them, don't we?  Well, this week we would like for you to find one of those photos, and use the blank space for some journaling or your title. This can be done by adding journaling or text in a photo-editing program, or you can do it after the photo has been printed. If you don't want to write on your photo, you could use journaling strips in the blank space, or add a title using alphabet stickers.

Please place it in the "Blank Space Challenge" folder that will be set up in the gallery

A Layout from Kristie

Today we're going to show you what Design Team member, Kristie Taylor, created with the March kit:

Kristie said, "This is my sister in law.  She is such a sweet person.  I used the cardstock stickers from the add-ons and several small pieces of the beautiful paper to make the layers.  I distressed the edges and added some of the pink paint from the kit to the edges. I used a fringe scissor to one strip of paper to add some texture. I then cut some banner shapes from the paper and added a piece of twine from my stash to hold it.

A Preview of our March, 2012 Kit and Add-ons

We are very excited to give you a first look at our March kit, "A Breath of Spring".  We will be featuring beautiful paper from Pion Designs.  C'est Magnifique has not yet carried paper from this Swedish company but you are sure to fall in love with it.  The detail in these papers is amazing.  Unfortunately this kit has already sold out.

We would also like to show you our March add-ons.  Both of our add-ons have sold out, but there are individual items available in our store.  These items are sure to sell out quickly.  If you'd like to have some of these shipped with your kit, head over to the store and order them soon.

Challenge Update

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!  Our recently ending challenge was to show us a Valentine card or tag.  Congratulations to Heather, the winner of the challenge.  She will be receiving an RAK from C'est Magnifique.  Heather shared five cards with us, and here is one of them, "Heart Breaker":

Heather's card is the perfect intro to this week's challenge.  We are challenging you to create a layout using Valentine's Day colors - red and pink.  We would like to see your layout that is predominately red, pink, or a combination of the two colors.  You may use any accent colors you choose.  Please upload only newly created layouts for this challenge.The colors are the only other requirement.  Everything else is up to you! 

You may upload one layout for this challenge, which ends on Sunday, February 26 at midnight (US EST).  Please upload your layout to our Gallery where we have created a folder for this challenge.

February Bits & Pieces Winner

The Scrap Cake

New Challenge Information

How do you scrapbook? Do you like to use recent photos? I tend to use photos that are relatively new, and don't use older photos as much. This week we are challenging you to use an old photo - let's say a photo that is at least 5 years old. I know many of you probably have photos much older than that, and we would love to see them! The only other requirement is that your layout must be newly created for this challenge.

You may upload one layout for this challenge. Please upload your layout to the folder in the gallery for this challenge. We would also love to see them posted in our forum, as well. The deadline to submit your layout for this challenge is Sunday, February 19th by midnight EST (New York City time). The winner, chosen by a random draw, will receive an RAK from C'est Magnifique.

February Bits and Pieces

We are starting a new give-away that will take place ONLY on our blog.  On the 5th of each month we will be posting a photo of everything that Leslie, the owner of C'est Magnifique, has remaining after creating layouts with the kit for that month.  It will include kit items, as well as items from the embellishment and flower add-ons.

So, if you weren't able to get your hands on the February kit, now's your chance to win the bits and pieces remaining from Leslie's kit.  Or, if you did receive this kit, and would like to add to it, you have a chance to win, too.

Our Sketch Challenge Winner

It started out as a good idea...........the design team would vote to select the winning layout in our very first sketch challenge, and I would announce it on the blog today. Sounds easy enough, but it didn't work out that way. The five members of the design team and C'est Magnifique owner, Leslie, each cast their vote. After six votes we had a 3-way tie. Oh no, what do we do? Well first, let me show you the three [AMAZING] layouts that received votes.  These layouts are listed in the order in which they were uploaded to the challenge folder in the gallery:
