Our June Kit Reveal "My Cottage Garden"

The June kit is here!  This month we have paper from two different countries.  From France, the main line of paper is from Les Papiers de Pandore.  Our accent papers are from an Australian company, Meg's Garden.  They are the perfect compliment.

If you are a member of C'est Magnifique, your kit should be arriving soon.  If not, we have some kits available for purchase in our store.   We also have some add-ons and individual items in the store.

Sneak Peek #5

Happy Memorial Day everyone.  In the forum we've had some tough discussions about what this day means to all of us (in addition to grilling and eating watermelon).   I hope you will have some time today to remember those who have given their lives for our safety and freedom.

Here's another look at how one of our design team members used the June kit (which we will reveal in just a couple more days).

"Ick" by Erin Blegen

I have a favorite place right by my house where I like to take the kids on the 4-wheeler.  It's a pond way back in the woods and on a recent beautiful spring day we ventured back there and the boys enjoyed throwing rocks in the water.  My little Aspen, however, didn't quite know what to think about her first real outing.  Since finally learning to sit, I can actually place her on the ground and she can explore her surroundings.  I took several pictures, and they all look pretty similar- my dainty sweetheart with a look of disgust on her face.  I've always been quite the tomboy, so seeing my daughter already acting like a "girly girl"...well, it was a bit disheartening! But they all find their own way in this world, don't they?

I kept to the natural elements in this kit- the burlap buttons, grassy chipboard, brown and beige tones- with just a splash of color.

Sneak Peek #4

"Sweet Dreams" by Beverly Sams

My cousin's daughter during a photo shoot with friends, growing up entirely too fast! All items on this layout are from C'est Magnifique's June main kit, with the exception of the Tim Holtz vintage photo Distress Ink and Tattered Angels Glimmer mist in Olive Green.

I used Tim Holtz's Pinecone Die to make the yellow and red flowers.

Prima: Sun Kiss Vinetta Flowers

Embellishment Add-On:

Prima: Large Window Closers

Gallery Finds

I love looking through the gallery in search of projects using items from our Store.
First I found this beautiful card by Erin Blegen.
She used Pion's 'For Mother' paper which is available as a paper pack, or individually.

I also spotted this layout by Erin using Webster's Pages "Everyday Poetry" collection.  The paper collection includes (12) 12x12 double-sided papers, (1) 12x12 diecut, (1) storyteller alpha sticker sheet, (1) 8-inch bling strip, (2) sentiment fabric tickets, (2) 12" bloomer trims.

June Kit Sneak Peek #2

I hope all of you are looking forward to a wonderful weekend!  But before the weekend starts, I wanted to give you another look at our June kit.  Fi Kenward created this beautiful layout.  I just love the way she uses dark backgrounds.  It really makes the colors stand out.

"Sisters"
This picture was taken way back in the 70's.  It's my mum with me
and her sister with her daughter.  I am about 4 months older than her.
All the paper and embellishments are from the main kit.

Thanks for looking!

Don't you love how she used gauze on this layout?

Another Look at our May Kit

Today we'd like to share with you a few more layouts from our design team using the May kit, which features paper from 7 Dots.  You will also see items from the May add-ons (7 Dots add-on, flower add-on,  and embellishment add-on),  We still have a few kits and some add-ons available in the STORE

"Father and Son" by Leslie Kammerdiener

So this is Johnnie, my son's home health aide, and his little boy at the rodeo here in San Antonio. Johnnie is getting a new apartment and wanted something to hang on the wall and he asked me to create a layout. He didn't want anything girlie on it (flowers, etc) which made it really hard on me. I just can't do a layout without flowers, lol. (and wait til he sees that appliqué, hehe).

"Memories" by Camilla Ekman

like to layer stuff. The journaling pieces from Prima are perfect for this. I have used two different ones underneath the photo. I have scrapped a photo of my niece on her second birthday and softened the colours of the photo to fit the papers.

"Wonderful to be Sisters" by Valerie Serfozo

I received this photo from niece and the color was so bad, but I loved the photo - these 2 little sweeties laying together on the floor. So I applied a vintage action to it and I really like how it turned out. No fancy techniques on this one. I just let the beautiful background of this paper from 7 Dots do all the work. You will love this kit! I mixed some of the Blueberry Cobbler Shimmerz (love that name!) with some gesso to color the Dusty Attic piece.

"Evidence" by Fi Kenward

This is one of my favourite pictures my sister in law sent me of my brother and my baby niece. I just love the expression on their faces, priceless.

I used one of the pieces from the Quadrille paper to mat this photo and used my Grand Nestabilities Circle for the ring was cut also from the papers. I have used a few of the stickers here as well including the border strip just underneath the photo. I used gesso on the metal corner and then painted with the shimmerz before sanding it back of slightly. The journaling has been written on the Evidence tag poking out behind the photo, I adhered this to some paper as well. Rolled flowers were made from paper scraps using my sizzix rolled rose die cut and I have cut some of the pieces from the white appliques and placed them in the flower clusters and to finish it off I decided to add the bow down the bottom to finish it all off.

Thanks for looking!  We just love the many ways you can use this kit.

Have You Spotted Us?

C'est Magnifique has been seen a couple of places on the web recently.  We are sponsoring CSI (Color, Stories, Inspiration) this month, and the design team has been asked to be 'guest detectives'.  Here's a look at this week's case file no. 18:

Here's the design team's take on the challenge:

If you participate in this Case File, drop us a note and let us know.  We'd love to see your layout.

C'est Magnifique was also spotted on the Want2Scrap Blog on National Scrapbook Day.   We love to carry their products in our kits.  The May kit contained 'Charlie's Birdcage' and they featured the design team layouts using the birdcage.
