Welcome New Designer Catherine Giguère!

We would like to welcome Catherine Giguère as our newest member of the design team! Here is more about Catherine in her own words:

Hello! My name is Catherine, aka cat444 on the forums. I am a passionate scrapbooker for 10 years now. I am the mother of two little loves who are the main stars of my pages. I love the mixed media and flowers.
I am very happy to share with you today my first projects as a member of the C'est Magnifique Design Team! I loved creating with this kit! The Blue Fern Studios Sanctuary collection is simply gorgeous! I create my layouts with the February Kit and the Flower Add-On.

Here's my first layout showing my son at two weeks. I did my background with modeling paste, a mask, spray ink and black stamping.

My second layout is featuring my little boy at 2 years old. I use a lot of flowers on my layouts, even when I scrap pictures of my son!

From my own stash: Prima Wire Thread

I hope I have inspired you! Join me again next week when I will share another layout and a video tutorial to go with it! Have fun with the February Kit!

Mixed Media Canvas With Debbie

Hi everyone!  Debbie here with you today to share a canvas I created using the February Flower Add On and Embellishment Add On kits.

I started out with a 8 x 8 canvas.  I cut pieces of the K & Company Silhouette sheet from the Embellishment Add On kit and glued it down to the canvas. I painted it with some gesso and added some stamping and inking.  I then added another layer of gesso.  Next I randomly applied some strips of the Kaisercraft Pink Damask Tape and applied more gesso.   I added some drywall tape from my stash which I randomly painted and inked.  I used some of the  Becky Higgins Project Life Cards from the Embellishment Add On Kit, inked the edges black and layered them.

Here you can see the details on the canvas.

Items from my stash:  Gesso, drywall tape, ink, mist, tulle and stamps.

You can find the Embellishment Add On Kit and Flower Add On Kit here in the store.

Thanks for stopping by!

February Kit Projects + Video with Guest Designer Riikka Kovasin

Hi there! It's Riikka here to share my final guest designs for C'est Magnifique. This time I was working with the February Kit. I loved the metallic shades it has! I created three layouts and one book cover in total, today I'm sharing the first two of my projects. Let's get started!

My first page is about autumn and rowan. I really like the contrast of the dark branches and the red, almost luminous berries when the autumn sun hits them. To my surprise and delight one of the papers from the kit had a rowan branch and two waxwings sitting on it. That paper fit my subject marvelously!

I started by painting some watercolor on the background and then doodled little circles to resemble the circular shape of the berries. I also made little clusters of pearls confetti style. Underneath you can see the video how I did the page.

I mostly used supplies from the kit, like the metal flower and die-cuts and the zipper pull, but also added something from my own stash. Those items include brown ink, black felt pen, pencil and the alpha stickers.

The second craft I'm sharing today is a notebook or an art journal cover. I gave the piece to my daughters after taking the photos so I'm guessing it's going to be filled with drawings and stories (in their own language and writing, so they can be read in a number of ways).

I started by adhering a piece of patterned paper to the backs of the cover. I thought to have the leaf on the cover showing partly but ended up covering it almost totally. Using gel medium I then added the resin birds, metallic embellishments and pieces of chipboard from the kit to the cover. I also used some items from my own stash to make the design fuller. Then I added some of the sand paste to the cover as well and let it dry.

After the mediums were dry, I covered the cover with white gesso and then started coloring it using the watercolor from the kit and a mist of my own. I was aiming for a watercolor styled look so I kept the paint and mist kind of smudgy. On top of the color I then added touches with the metallic rubs and also doodled with the marker. I finished the cover by adding some bling--the tiny micro beads.

Besides the items from the kit I also used a purple mist, some paper roses, a bottle cap and five pieces from an old bracelet.

Welcome New Designer Olga Eltysheva!

We would like to welcome Olga Eltysheva as our newest member of the design team! Here is more about Olga in her own words:

My name is Olga. I'm 34 years old and live in cold Russia with my family - husband, young daughter and a small dog. I've been scrapbooking about two years, I like to create pages, albums and notebooks. I really love the old stuff and vintage style, and mixed media and all that is associated with it. I have a large collection of paints, sprays and other media. I'm very glad to be part of such a great team!

When I received my February Kit and Mixed Media Kit, I immediately sat down to work, because it's incredibly inspiring! Luxurious colors and prints! Today I'll show you what I created.

My first layout is with my daughter Maria. I made a lot of layers, using the beautiful Sanctuary paper from Blue Fern Studios.

On the second layout I used a stencil, stamps, gesso, thread and the Prima Turquoise Stone Chalk Edger - this is my new love! This ink is perfect to use to draw and paint on chipboard!

This is one of my favorite works with my baby pictures. I added decoration with the Melissa Frances Blossom Resin Embellishments. I think they are very cute!

And I have two cards, but I want to do more!

I have really enjoyed playing with this kit! If you are interested in the February Kit or Add-Ons a limited amount of kits are available for purchase from the C'est Magnifique Store while supplies last!

Patti's February Kit Projects

Hi everybody, Patti here today to share the projects I created with the gorgeous February kit! I have four layouts to share with you today! The Main Kit for this month is crammed with gorgeous goodies and the papers are the Blue Fern Studios Sanctuary collection, which I TOTALLY love!

I used items from the Main Kit and Flower Add-On for my projects. This first layout is our daughter-in-law, I pulled colors from the papers to match the photos. The larger flower was made with the trim included in the Main Kit, the smaller blooms were made by cutting flowers by hand from the patterned paper from the Main Kit. (The zipper was from a sheet set plastic bag!)

This page is our sweet little Grand-daughter. I pulled the lavendars from the papers for this one. I used the gorgeous Prima Winthrop Blooms from the Flower Add-On. The scallop strip was  die-cut from the patterned paper and inked.

This is our youngest son and his wife. I pulled the blues for this layout. I used some white gesso on the chipboard and blooms and did lots of fussy cutting from the patterned paper.

My last layout is my Aunt Mae. I love this photo of her, she was such a "be your own person" kind of lady! I miss her terribly! I just mixed the colors and items for this layout. I love the large chipboard alphas from Prima included in the Main Kit!

I had so much fun with the February Kit! Again, it is very versatile, and the colors are gorgeous for all types of photos or cards. Thanks  for dropping by and don't forget to check back to see what else the team has coming!

Dana's February Kit Projects

Hi! I'm sharing the projects that I created with the February Kits from C'est Magnifique. I used the Main Kit, Flower Add-On, Embellishment Add-On and Magnifique Mixed Media Kit on each of the projects that I am sharing today.

I'm in love with the gorgeous Blue Fern Studios Sanctuary collection! The beautiful floral and bird prints were perfect to document these photos of my daughter feeding some tropical birds during a trip to Butterfly World.

The Metal Filigree Embellishments are one of my favorite items in the Mixed Media Kit. I colored the surface with the Metallic Rub-On Paint Set and topped it with a pearl brad. I added a pop of color to the background of my page with the C'est Magnifique Pretty Primrose Texture Paint and the Heidi Swapp Square Lattice Stencil.

The Bo Bunny Rose Cafe Journaling Cards and Kaisercraft Be-You-Tiful Cardstock Die-Cuts were a fun way to build up layers under my photos.

This layout features a favorite photo of my daughters. They really are birds of a feather!

The beautiful Prima Roses are my favorite flower from the Flower Add-On. I colored the Melissa Frances Resin Blossom with Rose Gold Twinkling H2Os.

I added some colorful stamping to the background of this layout with the Kaisercraft Boutique Texture Stamp, Prima Turquoise Stone Chalk Edger and C'est Magnifique Pretty Primrose Texture Paint.

I scrap this vintage family photo at least once a year. This old wedding photo is a favorite of mine. I balanced the sepia tones in the photo and patterned paper with bright pink and blue accents.

I added a set of resin "love birds" to the corner of the photo. I colored them with the Metallic Rub-On Paint Set from the Mixed Media Kit. I altered the chipboard piece with Prima Black Sand Texture Paste and Rose Gold Twinkling H2Os.

I created two cards. I had fun building flower clusters with the beautiful blooms from the Flower Add-On Kit.

I also altered the cover of the Kaisercraft Beyond The Page MDF Journal from the Mixed Media Kit.

The MDF journal covers are very strong and would hold up well to several form of wet mediums and heavy embellishments. I love the beautiful Sanctuary paper collection so much that I decided to cover the front of the journal with paper.

I cut around the leaf on the cover, backed it with patterned paper, and filled the leaves with C'est Magnifique Pretty Primrose Texture Paint, Prima Black Sand Texture Paint and Prima Zinc Glass Beads.

I have really enjoyed playing with this kit! If you are interested in the February Kit or Add-Ons a limited amount of kits are available for purchase from the C'est Magnifique Store while supplies last!

I have one more layout to share for the February Sketch Challenge reveal on February 1st.
Thanks for stopping by today!
