August Card Kit Projects by Guest Designer Rhonda Van Ginkel

Greetings to you!  It's Rhonda Van Ginkel here with you today as a Guest Designer featuring some card and tag projects created with the C'est Magnifiique August 2015 Card Kit.

"Garden Trellis" (3"x 6")

I used a 6x6 piece of solid card stock from my stash, then folded in half for my base. It coordinated so nicely with the Bohemian papers by Dovecraft that are in the kit. I actually used the cover sheet of the paper pad and cut out a part of it for my first layer behind the trellis on the left.

Those shaped buttons coordinate perfectly and added so much character to the card! This card is made to fit into the smallest envelopes (6 1/8" x 3 1/2") included in the kit. The next several projects were made specifically for these envelopes.

"Lovebirds Tag" (3.5" x 6")

I started this by die cutting a tag from a cereal box, then cut the base paper and covered the printed side of the cereal box so that the back that shows is just plain kraft. The edges are inked, then using some stamps and items from my stash, I stamped designs in black and added a bit more texture using a stencil and glitter paste.

I spent some down time cutting out the birds and florals and had such a good time layering and collaging them into a lovebird design.  A little bit of vellum from my stash and the stripes and grid paper designs from the paper stack were a lovely contrast to the florals here.

"Thank You" (3" x 6")

For this card, I wanted to use the striped glitter paper for the background. I thought it would be interesting to contrast with softer elements like a doily, cheesecloth and decorative corners. The sweet Mini Satin Bows and the coordinating Adhesive Gems and Pearls included in the kit make it a breeze to find that perfect extra touch!

"Lovebird Envelope" (3 1/2" x 6 1/8")

I used the coordinating stamps in the kit to decorate one of the envelopes. I used watercolor pencils to color in the design, then water to blend it. Drops of Glimmer Spray were used as well. I added touches of Stickles to the flowers in the design.

"Enjoy" (A2 Card)

This card was created to coordinate with the cream A2 envelopes in the kit. I used some cream card stock for my base, inked the edges with Antique Linen ink, then added my layers. I used the sentiment stamp from the coordinating stamps for my banner tag.

Be sure to check out the C'est Magnifique Store to get your very own August 2015 Card Kit today! Thank you for having me back again as a Guest Designer.  I'll be back again soon with some more projects from this beautiful kit!

Guest Designer Debbie Sherman

Hi friends! Debbie Sherman here today with you!  I'm honored to be one of the July guest designers! I was so excited to see the "Old Glory" Kit with all the Red White and Blue. What a perfect color palette for the month of July as we celebrate the USA!

My projects are with the 4th of July celebration in mind. I'll start off with the table centerpiece I made for the 4th. I used a pinwheel maker for all the pinwheels and the backgrounds are made with 2 sheets of patterned paper and a scoreboard. I attached the smaller pinwheels to painted close pins and adhere buttons to the center.  The medallions were made with a scoreboard and 2 sheets of patterned paper.

Next up is a layout that some of you have already seen but thought I'd add a couple of photos with the details. This is my interpretation of the July Sketch Challenge. The medallions were made with a scoreboard and some of the flowers from the Flower Add-On for the centers.

I've been trying to build up a card stash for all occasions especially friendship cards. I'm always scrambling for these cards!

I created this mini with a ton of photos in mind. If you're anything like me I take thousands of photos especially in the summer. The cover features flowers and embellishments from the Main Kit and the Flower Add-On.

When you open the front cover each page has pockets with matted cards for photos or journaling.

My final project is a layout of one of my sweet grand daughters...she is obviously enjoying a 4th of July cupcake!  I added lots of stamping and background work to this one.

I hope you enjoyed my projects.
I would love to see what you create with this fabulous Old Glory Kit!

Thanks for stopping by the C'est Magnifique blog today!!

Olga's July Kit Projects and Mixed Media Layout Tutorial

Hello everyone! Olga here today. I want to share the layouts I created with the July Kit. I also have a mixed media layout tutorial to share!

I choose a piece of paper for the page and applied texture gel over a stencil. Then I painted over the pattern with Distress Ink.

I choose the photos and stamped text onto the wooden sticks. Try on on a page!

Then I added a bit of Scotch paper tape to the background and a lot of spray mist.

I added stamping with archival black ink and green inks to the background.

Next I glued all my embellishments down. Using a black pen, I drew twigs and leaves and I used Glossy Accents to attach sequins.

I just love the combination of blue and red colors! I really enjoyed working with this kit and created another 2 pages and 2 postcards! I offer them for your attention!

I hope you have enjoyed my projects! The July Kits are available for purchase now from the C'est Magnifique Store.
