Meet our Guest Designer for March

All those who frequent our forum know this person very well.  She is active on the message boards, participates in all our challenges, and uploads frequently to our gallery.  We are so fortunate to have her as a part of our site, and are extremely glad to have her as a guest designer this month.

Heather Robertson
Here's a little bit about Heather:
I'm so thrilled to be a part of this wonderful, inspiring, and friendly community and delighted to be guest designer for March, especially with these amazing beautiful Pion papers.

I'm blessed to have lived in two of the most beautiful spots in the world; I grew up in Northern Ireland and now I live in Alaska. I've been married to Dan for 15 years and we have a thirteen year old boy, Nathan (who disappears when a camera appears) and an eleven year old daughter, Lauren (who immediately goes into pose mode when the camera appears). We also share our home with 2 Chesapeake Bay retrievers, 3 cats and a poodle who we dog-sit for a friend. Aside from scrapping I love to travel, take photographs, play racquetball, cycle and hike.

I have been scrapping for about eight years and I enjoy creating both pages and cards. I also like to "break free" every now and then to create canvases. My style really varies depending on my mood. My primary style is probably clean, bold and graphic but I also love to experiment with shabby chic and whimsical. I love to stitch and mist and love circles and odd shaped photos. I like to think no one will know what I'll come up with next.

And here are some of the amazing projects Heather created using our March kit:

"Life is Beautiful" card with handmade roses using paper from the kit
and the Tim Holtz pine cone die

Heather also used these handmade flowers on her "So Ready" layout

We hope you have enjoyed meeting Heather.  We're so glad she is a part of C'est Magnifique!

Our March Kit - A Breath of Spring

We always love it when we can reveal our monthly kits.  For March, we have a beautiful kit that we are calling "A Breath of Spring".  The paper from Pion Designs is just what you need to remind you that spring is just around the corner.

We have paired this lovely paper with some awesome embellishments, too.  Here's a closer look at some of them:

Flower spray from Manor House

Dainty lace, perfect for coloring with sprays or paint, and some Dusty Attic

Ink for distressing and canvas pieces from Prima

Pearl flourish and more Dusty Attic

An alphabet from Pink Paislee

Petaloo flowers with glitter!

A beautiful bridge and bench by Prima

Once again, this kit sold out very quickly.  We are trying hard to keep up with the demand, but since the paper we feature is not from the United States, we have to order well in advance.  If you want to be guaranteed a kit, you will need to subscribe and become a member.  All the details are available HERE on our website.

Tomorrow we will be introducing our March guest designer so be sure to check back.

Challenge Update

Happy Monday, everyone!  We would first like to announce the winner of our Red & Pink Challenge.  Congratulations to Bellidea who was chosen the winner by a random draw.  She will receive an RAK from C'est Magnifique.  Here is her beautiful layout, "I Believe in Pink".

Now it's TIME for a new challenge.  Sorry, but I couldn't resist.  This week our challenge is all about TIME.  We would like for you to somehow tie the word 'time' to your layout.  You could use a clock on your layout, use the word 'time' in your title, create a 'now and then' layout, or anything else you can think of.  If it isn't obvious how you have used the theme of 'time' in your layout, please be sure to let us know.

You will have until Sunday, March 11 at 12 midnight EST to post your layout in our gallery.  We will have a folder for the Time Challenge.  The winner will be chosen by a random draw, and will receive an RAK from C'est Magnifique.

We ask that you upload only newly created layouts for this challenge.

We think this one will be fun, and we look forward to seeing how you use this theme on your layout!

Another look at the March Kit

Now, I'd like to share one of my layouts with you.  Green is one of my favorite colors, so I was thrilled to see a beautiful shade of green in this month's kit. The paper from Pion Designs is amazing. It is so easy to create an instant background for your layout with the beautiful borders. I've used a photo of my niece, who is a dancer. She is just as sweet as she is beautiful.

I used some Gesso, Distress Ink, and a Viva Decor Pearl Pen from my stash.

Kit Add-ons include:
Petaloo Paprika flowers
Kaisercraft rub-ons
Kaisercraft Sweet Nothings Sticker Sheet
Manor House Enchanted Little Princess flower

We have a lot to share with you next week including more layouts from the design team, the reveal of our March sketch, and announcement of our February sketch challenge winner.

Leslie's Boy Layout

Leslie, the owner of C'est Magnifique created this layout of her darling grandson.

She told us this about her layout:

"This is my adorable little grandson that I keep making 'girly' flowered layouts for, lol. That boy has me wrapped around his little finger, for sure.

So for this layout I glued 2 half sheets of paper side by side and inked one of the borders from the add-on a bright red, running it down the seam. I just wanted that bold pop of color and I tried to tie it in with the embellies by inking the wood berries too. I then used one of the bird cage rubons and I must say - those go on so smoothly! From there I really just layered some of the postcards from the paper, some flowers and some of the mistable canvas pieces. I did ink one of the DA pieces black and it's hidden in there as well.

To finish, I inked the edges with the red first and then some black."

Add-Ons Used:
Manor House Creations - Sugar & Spice - Blue
Manor House Creations - Grandma's Garden - Sunshine
Kaisercraft - Berry Vine
Kaisercraft - Bird Cage Rubons
American Crafts - Thickers
Kaisercraft - Sweet Nothings Sticker Sheet

From My Stash:
Distress Ink - Black Soot
Studio G Chalk Ink - Red
