"Oh So Pretty" by Camilla Eckman

Oh so pretty! That's the title of my layout and refers to my dear daughter in the photos. But the April kit is also Oh so pretty. LOL The colours of the patterned papers are quite bold so I have soften them by creating a layer on top of it. I used a brick wall mask from Prima and painted it with gesso.

From the flower add-on:
Big pink flower and roses

From the embellishment add-on:

Crystal swirl
Thickers

From my own stash:
leaves
mask
gesso
doily die

"Remember this Beautiful Day" by Nadia Cannizzo

All materials are from the April kit.  This is a layout of my 2 gorgeous girls (yet again!) on a very special day late last year...it was September 24th and it was both their birthday party and a very significant day. It was the last time everything was as it was supposed to be with my advanced pregnancy and all was going well ..the world was a perfect place, but..a few days later I lost my 5 month old unborn 3rd daughter. But its OK!

I did not want this to be a sad layout for them, so I decided to make it bright and happy with lots of love and details thrown all over it, and heartfelt journalling so the tag with the journalling was perfect for HIDDEN journalling. YES I did fussy cut the diagonal shapes from the gorgeous 'My Private Happiness' paper and it took a while but I enjoyed it very much I quite like the finished effect!

Another look at our April Kit

"Kisses" by Valerie Serfozo

I've been drawn to use photos taken outside with this paper. I suppose it's due to the sunny colors. When working with the kits, I spread the paper out on my scrap table, and go through my photos, looking for something that looks good with paper. This photo of my niece stood out when I noticed the little cluster of flowers in the top-left of the photo. I used a 2" scallop punch to cut out some of the elements on the paper. It was the perfect size, and easier than cutting around the scallops. But I did do some fussy cutting on one of the 7"x12" sheets of paper in the kit to create the background for my photo.

Add-on items used:
Webster's Pages Pinwheel flower
Wild Orchid Carnation
Green Tara Copper Heart
Thickers Foam alphabet - Eric

Items from my stash:
Gesso
Scattered Straw Distress Ink
Pumice Stone Distress Ink
Tim Holtz Flourishes die
Viva Decor Pearl Pen

"Mom" by Leslie Kammerdiener

This is a layout of my Mom. I don't have a whole lot of pictures of her, so there aren't too many layouts either. I like how happy she looks in this photo. It was taken last year when she and my father came to Texas for a visit. My son's favorite place is the Tea Gardens in San Antonio and he has me take everyone that visits there. It's definitely a place for photo opportunities.

"Mom" using the April Kit

Add-ons Used:

Green Tara Hydrangeas
American Crafts Thickers
Wild Orchid Cherry Blossoms

From My Stash:
White card stock
Yellow card stock
white paint

Packaging Challenge

Packaging Challenge?  Yes, you read it correctly.  This week we are challenging you to use packaging on a layout.  Packaging, as in something you could have otherwise thrown in the trash.   It could be packaging from a scrapbook product (Prima has some beautiful packaging), or from something completely different. Perhaps you have packaging that relates to the subject of your layout.  How you use packaging on a layout is completely up to you!

Here are the details:

You may upload 1 layout for this challenge

Please upload your layout to the "Packaging Challenge" folder that will be set up in our gallery. Only those layouts uploaded to this folder in the gallery will be considered for the random draw.

Please submit only newly created layouts for this challenge.

The challenge will end at midnight (US EDT) on Sunday, April 1.

The winner, chosen by a random draw, will receive an RAK from C'est Magnifique

We look forward to seeing how you use packaging on your layout!
