February Kit, one last time

Hi all.  It's Valerie Serfozo here today to give you one more look at our February Kit, "An Aura of Romance" featuring the Believe Collection from Manor House Creations.

Today I want to share with you a couple of layouts that I created using the kit and add-ons.  In this first layout I chose to stay primarily with the neutral colors of the paper.  I used the envelopes in the embellishment add-on to make my own tags.  I am always on the look out to re-purpose an embellishment if I can.

One of the great things about this Manor House Creations paper, is that you can keep it natural or choose one or more colors to use as accents.  In the kit there are shades of burgundy and pink that can be used as accents.  These colors were used in the layout below to bring out the colors of my niece's sweater, and add some contrast.

Well, that's it for today, and the last of our looks at the February Kit.  We still have a few kits remaining in our Store if you're interested in getting one for yourself.  All the February Kit related items can be found HERE.  Also, don't forget to check out our Prima Section of the store where you will find new releases from CHA 2014.

You still have through midnight March 12th to enter our Bits & Pieces Giveaway.  The link can be found in our left sidebar.

Be sure to check back Thursday when we will announce the winner of the Bits & Pieces Giveaway, and we also have some exciting design team news!

February MMM Kit: One More Look w/Erin Blegen

Good morning :)

Erin back with you today for one more final look at our {SOLD OUT} February Magnifique Mixed Media Kit!

"This Makes Me Smile" Journal Cover
Collage work is so much fun...and easy. This kit provided so many fun paper embellishments that were simply perfect for this type of project. Most of the Prima cards seen here were cut in two or more pieces and layered throughout the cover.

I've used the stencil included in the kit and some chalk ink to create the flourished masked areas seen here. I've also applied both the Shimmerz paint and Twinkling H20s along the edges, touched by a dab of the Tim Holtz Distress Paint for depth. {I use my fingertip to apply}.

I love ready-made titles :). And this Prima Paintables card was perfect for titling a journal cover.

There really isn't a science behind the layers. Just do what feels right- I've said it before and I'll say it again: there's no wrong way to collage. Really. Just try it!

Thanks for joining me today for one more look at our February MMM kit. Stay tuned for the reveal of our March MMM kit coming up SOON.

Take care!

February's Kit pages with Bonnie

Its Bonnie  on the blog today, finally getting to share with you my projects that I got to make with the awesome Feb kit "An Aura of Romance"!

Besides the kit, the star of this layout is my super sweet great niece Lucia! She is so adorable and cute, and even though I don't get to see her in person very often, I get to enjoy scrapping the adorable photos her mom puts up on Facebook!

To create this layout I used the Main Kit, the Flower Add-On, the Embellishment Add-On and the Magnifique Mixed Media Kit.  From my stash: stencils, molding paste, mists, chalk ink, Archival Ink,water color pencils, Martha Stewart border punches.

Here are some close ups, and you will find the details on my blog.

This is my second project made with the gorgeous "An Aura of Romance" kit from C"est Magnifique Kits! My niece let me "steal" some photos of their travels in Europe off of Facebook, and when I came across this photo I just loved the pop of the red flowers and the laundry hanging off the balcony. I tried to recreate the stone building, and had a blast trying! This photo is taken in Italy.

To create this layout I used the Main Kit, the Flower Add-on kit, the Embellishment Add-on and the Distress Paint from the Mixed Media Add-on. From my stash: stencil, modeling paste, mists, dies, chalk ink, distress ink, distress stains, gesso, border punch, lace,. micro beads, texture thick, cardstock

Here are some close ups, and details can be found on my blog

For my third project, I had this wooden picture frame kicking around for a while and never got around to altering it, so I thought it would be perfect for this kit. This is a photo of myself and my beautiful daughter from a family photo shoot we had done in November.

To alter this frame I used the Main Kit, the Flower Add on, the Embellishment Add-on and the ink from the MMM Kit. From my stash I used: modeling paste, gesso, stencil, distress ink, doily.

Here are the close ups, and the details can be found on my blog

Now I'd like  to show you the layout I made for the gorgeous Feb sketch. This is a photo of my hubby and I, taken during a family photo shoot we had done in November. I used a lot of the Deco Art Snow Tex that came in the main kit as I wanted my layout to have a wintry, blustery effect. I really like the way it turned out!

To create  this layout I used the main kit, the flower add on, the embellishment add on, and the MMM kit. From my own stash: stencil, homemade modeling paste, leaves, border punches, gesso, black pen, drywall tape.

Some close ups, and details can be found on my blog.

This last layout I will be showing you today is of my nephew and niece, Donovan and Tracey, who have spent lots of time traveling in Europe before they had their 2 adorable boys. This photo is taken in Italy and they are celebrating their 5th Anniversary, hence the title "Celebrate". I wanted to use the more neutral and cooler tones of the kit, with a few touches of gold.
To create this layout I used the Main Kit, the flower add-on, the embellishment add-on and the MMM add-on. From my stash: stencil, modeling paste, gesso,  doily, acrylic glaze, distress ink, Shimmerz Texturez, chalk ink.

Some close ups, and detail are found on my blog

I hope you have enjoyed viewing my projects that I had so much fun designing, and  the projects everyone else has designed. Can't wait to share with you next months kits and design! You definitely will want to stick around for some more CMKits goodness!

Be Blessed!

MMM Kit Layout - with Kelly

Good morning everybody! Kelly here today.
I have one last project to share with you that I created using the (sold out!) February Magnifique Mixed Media Kit!
This kit was so much fun, and I am continuing to use all of the mediums on my other projects, as well.
Today I have a layout I created, based off of the February Sketch Challenge sketch. I hope I can inspire you to join in and play along!

"Home Is Wherever I'm With You"

I used the gorgeous Manor House paper from the February kit. I started by doing a little masking with the Viva Modeling Cream and the ColorBox stencil from the kit. Over that, I added torn strips of the MHC papers, strips cut from the Paintables and the various die cuts from the kit. Over that, I added a light coating of the Distress Paint, gave it a spray of water, and let it blend all over. I let that dry, and did some stamping with the Kaisercraft stamp and the Mix'd Media Inx from the kit as well, then to finish added a few splatters of the Twinkling H2O's and Shimmerz paints.

Here is one last look at the February kit:
Gorgeous, is it not?!
Stay tuned to see what we came up with for March :) You don't want to miss out!!

Have a great day!!!

Join Us in Welcoming our February Guest Designer

We consider ourselves fortunate to have Lindy Gillespie join us this month as our Guest Designer.  Lindy's creative style is such a perfect fit with our kits.  Here are a few words from Lindy, and a look at her projects using the February Kit, "An Aura of Romance", featuring the "Believe" paper collection from Manor House.

Hi my name is Lindy Gillespie and I live in sunny Gold Coast.  I am married with 2 grown up children, Craig and Kate,  and an obnoxious cat called Java -and like any animal is very much part of the family.

I have been scrapping for about 7 years and first stumbled across a brick and mortar store which caught my eye so I had to investigate, and to my surprise was immediately addicted.

I would classify my scrapping style as white space with s bit of shabby chic .... and I am a bit addicted to distressing and mix media.  Most of my work has layers and distressed edges. There are many that inspire me.  I love searching through the home magazines and the colour catalogues.

I have been very fortunate to be published in most Australian and Overseas magazine.

On the first layout I choose to scrap a vintage photo, which suited these gorgeous papers.  I first started with punching some of the edges, then tore the straight edges, and inked them as a final touch. As my style is lots of layering, I cut the elements, frames, and lace papers.  Then I started layering beginning with the black lace and the chippie, which was sealed with gesso, and painted with distress paint.  Finally I added some items from the ephemera pack. The flowers were from the Main Kit and the Flower Add-on.

For the second layout I chose to scrap one of my daughter's wedding photos from last year.  I have torn 3 different papers to match the photo, and this time, added a lot of pieces from the ephemera pack as the starting point for the layers.  On the background I stamped with some textured stamps and misted in grey and gold.  The edge punching,  which is on all my pages, is my signature style.

For this layout I wanted to make the Petaloo Berry Spray the focus, using an older photo which I edited in Photoshop.  These items, along with the Manor House paper flowers from the Flower Add-on and a butterfly cut from one sheet of the paper, blended into the a great design.  On the background I started inking the script stamp, then added some texture with masking and misting in shades of walnut and gold.  Under the berry spray I added lots of different layers including lace, elements, ephemera, some flowers from the kit, and handmade rolled flowers.

Lastly, I created two cards:

A huge thank you to Lindy for being a part of the C'est Magnifque team this month, and creating these awesome layouts and cards using our February Kit!
