The April kit with Vicky

C'est Magnifique kits always has terrific kits and this one is no exception. The colours are so vintage and versatile this month! With the Riddersholm "Fall flea market" collection you can scrap boys, girls, couples, babies - anything works with these rich colours! Here are just a few  of my creations this month...

Up first is a layout of my hubby and I when we were dating. Everything except the title and small roses are in the main kit (those are from the add-ons). What beautiful purple flowers, chipboard frame and resin butterflies in this amazing kit!

I used the wonderful kit sketch as inspiration for the above layout (I just flipped it).
Don't forget to enter the monthly CHALLENGE for chance to win a fantastic prize!

Next is a layout of my daughter when she was an infant. Heavy distressing, more beautiful flowers, plus a little cheesecloth from my stash adds a bit of texture to this shabby chic layout. I just can't get enough of the resin butterflies in this kit - LOVE them!

Here is a casual shot of my hubby, back when we were dating. I used gesso and inked some corrugated cardboard with the pale blue chalk ink in the kit - again adding extra texture to my layout. I even placed some cardboard behind the wood pieces in the kit. A few "manly" flowers from the add-ons to polish things off. Love the mix of blues and browns in this kit - great colour combo!

Thanks for joining me on the blog today!

One Last Look at the April MMM Kit!

Hi everyone. Erin Blegen checking in today with one more look at our beautiful April MMM Kit. Today I have a mixed media card to share with you!

"Friend" Card
I started by creating the base of my card using the Riddersholm Design papers from the main kit. I glued on some layers of paper and book pages and then covered them with gesso. Following that, I applied masking with the April MMM kit mask and modeling paste; set with heat gun.

Next, using a palette knife I applied the Lumiere paint over some of the masked areas for pops of color. Once dry, I proceeded to spray (from a distance) the Lindy's Stamp Gang mist and then toss on some mist splats. Inka Gold was applied to the edges of my card.

Embellishing came last. I wanted some funky accents for this card, so I applied white paint to the Blue Fern Studios chipboard and then added some of the rub-ons from the MMM kit. The Prima resin frame was accented with the Lumiere paint and then backed up by a Prima Cartographer wood embellishment. Some vintage lace trim from my stash added texture to the linear arrangement behind my embellishments.

The April MMM Kit {SOLD OUT}

Thank-you for coming by for a final look and farewell to our stunning April MMM Kit!

Take care!

A Sad Announcement

It is with so much sadness that I tell everyone that the time has come for me to sell/close C’est Magnifique.

Many of you know that I started Blue Fern Studios over a year ago and I’m finding that running two successful companies and taking care of my son (who was critically wounded in Afghanistan and now requires full time care) has just become too much for me to handle.  This will allow me to focus on my son first, and Blue Fern second, which has been my dream for over 10 years.  I am excited to see how far it can go!

I am hoping to sell CM as it is very profitable and I would really hate to see it close!  If anyone is interested in purchasing it, please don’t hesitate to contact me at leslie at cestmagnifiquekits.com.  I can tell you that you will have a blast as I truly love everything involved in it.

In the event that no one is interested in purchasing it though, we will finish up with the June kit and start liquidating June 1.  We hope you stay with us til the end as the next two kits will rock your world!!!

April MMM - Layout by Kelly Foster

Hello everyone!
Kelly back here today to share another layout I created using the April MMM Kit.
This kit is sold out, but keep your eye out for our next one, coming very soon :)

I really had a lot of fun with this one...I was delighted with this Riddersholm paper from the kit, and I really love the energy the sun-burst design can give to a page.

"Cherish Always"

I used the stencil from the kit along with a variety of the paints/mist and stenciled the design, then used a circle punch to punch out circles, which I layered randomly on the background. I then added more stenciling using the same stencil and a pen. I dipped the end of my paintbrush in the Art Anthology paint and created dots along the "rays" of the sun burst. And so on...until I thought it was complete!

All of the embellishments were given a touch of the Inka Gold for a beautiful sheen.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend - thank you for taking a look today!

Kelly

Meet our April Guest Designer

We are pleased to welcome Zaneta Glowa (Zanka) to C'est Magnifique Kits as our April Guest Designer.  You will absolutely love her amazing style, and the magic she has performed with our April Kit, A Touch of Refinement.  I will let Zanka tell you a little more about herself and show you her layouts.

My name is Zaneta Glowa aka Zanka.  I have lived in Sweden since 2003, but I’m actually Polish.  I grew up in the south of Poland and I lived in Krakow for many years before moving over the Baltic Sea and settling here in Sweden for good. My adventure with scrapbooking started in 2010.  It didn't take long before it became my big passion and a main consumer of my spare time. I guess I'm a rather typical woman of 'our times', navigating through a combination of family life and a full-time job with a certain amount of commuting... so 'spare time' is something of a luxury product ;)  Therefore, I really appreciate these moments, only for myself and my passion  in the late evenings when the rest of my family is asleep or busy with something else.  You are warmly welcome to visit my blog at www.mysweedplace.blogspot.com.  Currently I'm a member of few fantastic Design Teams -Once Upon a Sketch OUAS, Scrap Friends, and Scrap Around the World.

With Love

For my first layout I wanted to play with a combo of purple, white wash and copper accents.  I layered paper pieces and tags, gently brushed them randomly with gesso.  I added a chipboard frame to bring forward our photo and I added an embellishment cluster to create a compositional triangle of flowers.  I used items from Main kit and MMM kit. From my stash: Sizzix oval frame die, gesso, copper paint and few brads.

Promenade

In the kit I found some perfect items for a pastel, summer page with a modern, mixed media look.
I framed a photo of my daughter taken during our promenade by the ocean.

I loved the items in the MMM kit, especially the stencil, which I used here diagonally.
Moonshadow mist is perfect to add the dark stain circles and splashes.

I used items from Main kit, Embellishment Add on and MMM kit.
From my  stash:gesso, Prima stamp, archival ink

 La vie

Back to the vintage style, a layout featuring myself.  I edited the photo in the photo editor
to create this vintage sepia look.   My inspiration comes entirely from the paper pattern.
I have added some stamping and flourish masking in the background.
I filled up the flower cluster with some leaves and flourishes,
cut out with various dies and the papers from the main kit.

I used items from Main kit, Embellishment Add on and MMM kit.
From my  stash: gesso, flourish stencil, stamp, paper doily.

With You

I kept this layout simple, playing with the straight lines, layers and a mix of geometric shapes.
The tags are cut out from one of the Riddersholm papers and make a nice variation in the layering.

I used items from Main kit, Embellishment Add on and MMM kit.
From my  stash: circle stencil and modelling paste

You Make Me Happy

I picked a photo of me and my daughter which was taken in an old castle
and I tried to keep the whole page in a truly elegant, feminine style.
As one of the layers, I used the packaging from MME stickers which were in the
embellishment add on.   The papers in the main kit have so many variations
and nuances of patters and colours, which is perfect to make tags
and arrange them in the layers.I used items from Main kit, Embellishment Add
on and MMM kit. From my stash: dies, old lace.

Zanka, we loved having you join our design team this month and creating such amazing projects with our April kit.   Thanks for spending time with us!
