One More for the June MMM Kit w/Erin

Hi everyone. Today is a bittersweet day for me. I've been honored to be a part of the C'est Magnifique family for so long now, but it is now my turn to say good-bye. It's been a pleasure designing with these amazing kits every month and am honored to have been given the opportunity.

I leave you today with a card that I created using the June MMM kit...

"Discover"
I started out with the rub-ons on my card base, applying them to the upper-left and lower-right. Next I used a craft knife to lightly spread gesso over everything, but wiping it away from the rub-ons.

The 13 Arts paint in this kit is smooth as butter! I used a mask and a craft knife to create the stenciled design and allowed it to dry on its own. Next I began applying the purple and blue Gelatos along the edges where the stenciled areas were. With a baby wipe, I began to blend them and then discovered that upon doing so, the painted stenciled areas began to blend as well.

Finally, I added the Blue Fern Studios "Techno Rings" chipboard (cut in half) and the Maya Road wood hearts before finishing it all off with a flower cluster.

One more look at the complete MMM Kit:

Thank-you so much for allowing me to share with you all this time.

C'est Magnifique is in great hands and I know there are so many exciting things to come! So stay tuned!

Colors of the June Kit

Hi blog readers.  It's Valerie today, and I'd like to share with you a couple layouts and a mixed media piece I have created using the June Kit, "Lazy Days of Summer".   This kit features paper from both 7 Dots and KaiserCraft.

For my first layout, I used this gorgeous paper from KaiserCraft.  I love the color and detailed background.  As soon as I saw it, I remembered this photo of my nephew that I took shortly after he was born.  I love his little aviator hat.  Black seemed to be the perfect accent color.

I took a softer, more neutral approach with the 7 Dots paper for this layout.  I also chose a photo with neutral tones, and added just a bit of color.

To add some interest to the background, I sprayed 3 colors of mist on my craft sheet, in 3 areas.  I then placed a 12x12 stencil on the craft sheet and let some of the ink cover it, before removing it and placing it on my background paper.  After the mist had dried, I lined up the stencil with the pattern, and applied some super-thick white gesso to add some dimension.

I like to save the flaps from boxes to use as the substrate for mixed media pieces.  They are lightweight and best of all.....free!  That's what I used for this mixed media piece titled "Fly".  The quote, "Until you spread your wings, you'll never know how far you'll fly" is printed on one of the papers from the KaiserCraft collection.

I used the gelatos from the Magnifique Mixed Media Kit to create the background, along with some white paint, paint, mists, and rub-ons.

Next up will be Erin with a layout using the Magnifique Mixed Media Kit.  Enjoy your weekend!

Farewell and projects by Bonnie

Hi all! It's my turn to share with you all what I have created with the June Kit. It's been a bitter-sweet month for me both personally with saying good bye to my Mother-in-law and working with this amazing kit which is my final kit for C'est Magnifique. I have so enjoyed designing for CM but it seems we are both going forward in new ways!  I want to that Leslie for taking a chance on me and I want to wish Deonna all the best as she takes over C'est Magnifique Kits!

Now for my projects!  My first project I want to share with you is called "Moments" This kit has so many wonderful elements to choose from I put a little of everything on this layout! Here is little Lucia, who is stunning in her pink flower headband!  I did alot of mixed media type techniques from stamping to stenciling with home made modeling paste, to distressing and using paints and gelatos. I even took threads off the brown burlap trim and used them around the little roses on the outer edge of my layout! Such fun!

To create this layout I used the Main Kit, the flower add on, the embellishment add on and the MMM Kit. From my stash I used: stencil, home made modeling paste, gesso, stamp, archival ink, string, leaves.

This layout is in memory of my loving Mother-in-law who passed away May 16/14 and now rests in the loving arms of Jesus.  "Mother".  This photo is of my MIL and my dear hubby, taken almost 3 yrs ago at our daughters wedding, and she had just celebrated her 90th birthday. She always had this smile and light in her eyes when she talked with any of her children,  grandchildren and great grand children. She is fondly remembered and sadly missed. I wanted to keep this layout C&S, which is not really may style at all, but suits Mom.

I used papers from 7 Dots from the Main kit and got out my Martha Stewart punches and punched away! I very lightly inked the edges just to define them a bit more. I used lots of flowers and the cute Prima doily stichers. I altered the Blue Fern Calligraphic Border with distress paints in the metallics and teal chalk ink by Prima.

To create this layout I used the Main kit, the flower add on, and the embellishment add on. From my stash I used: distress paint and inks, border punches, clock die, Inka Gold, and teal chalk ink.

Time for some fun! I bought this wooden plaque from Micheals some time ago with just this kind of project in mind!  I call it "She Knew". I made good use of the MMM kit for this one! Lots of paint and sprays and rub on's and gleatos!
To create this project I used the main kit, the flower add on, the embellishment add on and the MM Kit. From my stash I used: gleatos, mists, stencil, home made modeling paste, doll stamp and archival ink.

For my last but not least layout I have "Brotherly Love" to share with you. Jacob just loves his little brother Seth sooo much! When I saw this paper from the Kiasercraft papers that came in the June kit, I knew I would be using this photo with it! I had such fun using the turquoise paint from the MMM kit to make those yummy paint drip at the bottom of the layout. I painted the Blue Fern chippies black, and I made black dashes along each letter in the banner part of the title.
To create this layout I used the Main kit, the flower add on, and embellishment add on and the MM kit. From my stash: memory box die, stencils, home made modeling paste, mists, black paint and pen and cardstock,, wire string, leaves.

Thanks so much for stopping by, I hope you gained some inspiration on different ways to use this glorious kit, and please keep posted to the CM blog for future updates and enjoy the new ride!  I will be having some updates on my personal blog as well!

Be Blessed!

"Fun Moments" MMM Kit Layout by Kelly

Hello there!
Kelly here today, for my final post here at C'est Magnifique. I truly have enjoyed my short time here designing the Magnifique Mixed Media kits...and I am so thankful for the experience - what a great adventure that really opened my eyes up to all of the fun products that are out on the market right now!!
Here is my second project using the (sold out!) June MMM Kit.

"Fun Moments"

The background for this one was created using the Tim Holtz rub ons, the Gelatos, and the Ayeeda Paints from the kit. My favorite part..the Blue Fern Studios Techno Rings. They really pulled the page design together, I think.

I added just a touch of the turquoise paint to the words on the Prima "Jean Plates" to make them stand out for my title.

One more peek at the kit :)

I want to say a huge "thank you!!!!!" for all of the support of the MMM Kits so far - it has been a great joy to see them so successful, as I am sure they will continue to be :)

Have a great day!!!

Kelly

What a great day announcement!

I am so excited and proud to announce that I have purchased C’est Magnifique Kits.  I can’t tell you all how long this has been a dream for me.  I have followed C’est Magnifique Kits for a long time and have loved every thing about the business.  It is just a dream come true and I am ready to make the most of it!
On top of that this all comes at my birthday so WOW what a Birthday present to me.

This process of purchasing C’est Magnifique Kits was done in a rather short amount of time because we would like to keep every thing up to the high standards as it has been since the beginning with Leslie.  We have been working together now to make the transition as smooth as possible.

Camilla, Karita, Ulrika and Vicky are staying on as  designers on the C’est Magnifique Kits Design team and Valerie as Design Team Coordinator.  We will continue to have the monthly sketches, except for this month, as time did not permit.  I will continue to approach this business as my main objective.

As I am an avid scrapper myself I know what we all love and I plan on keeping the kits in the same style.  Leslie has committed to help me design the kits for a while. I am determined to grow C’est Magnifique Kits and make it something even better!

Some time in the near future I will have a design team call to get the design team back to what it was and also plan to have guest designers as Leslie has had in the past.  Leslie and I are going to be working together for some time to help with this transition and make sure everything moves smoothly, so no fear - things will be great!  It is so funny that after all the years I have been a crafter I have finally worked this business into my life as the new owner of C’est Magnifique kits.

I have been photographing my life and the life of my family since the little square flash cubes were on top of a camera.  I feel that I am the historian for my LIFE and if I can leave anything of meaning to the world what could be better than documenting a great ride.  No one has a perfect life and that is what is so special about being a scrapper.  I can tell the good and the not so good but everything that has happened in my life has led me to the spot I am standing in right now and I love it.  No regrets!

We are going to change one thing, which was a joint decision.  We are going to remove the forums and create our community on our existing Facebook page.   Keep that in mind when you want any information and design inspiration.  We will still have the blog and store at http://cestmagnifiquekits.blogspot.com and contacting us will be even easier with Facebook.

Now a little about me, I have a wonderful husband that has supported and encouraged me to go with my gut on this venture, two wonderful sons 24 and 27 years old and they have been the light of my life plus combined family of 4 adult children and 10 grandchildren.  They all have been used as the focus of my photography for years, whether they liked it or not.

I am originally from Ohio via Naples Florida but have lived in the Memphis area since 2005.  I have a large and loving scrappy family with some of my closest friends being those I have met while scrapping.

Some days I think I should pinch myself just to make sure this is all real.

Remember life is a ride so enjoy every memory.
Deonna
