Hi friends! We're thrilled to welcome some new designers to the C'est Magnifique team!

Debbie Sherman - Design Team Coordinator

Hi! I'm Debbie Sherman, I'm ecstatic be part of the C'est Magnifique  Design Team! When I'm not scrap booking, photographer, wife, mother, grandmother of 8, auntie and friend. I have been crafting since I was a little girl. I started out sewing and making jewelry around the age of 7 and have been creating ever since. I still bead and sew but now it's mostly on my paper projects. I love photography and sometimes get that "great shot" that all photographers live for! I am fortunate enough to have a press pass and am able to shoot big events occasionally. The city I live in has a yearly old west celebration called the"Daddy of 'em all" and I'm fortunate enough to attend the big rodeo's, Native Americans and several other events in town. With my press pass I have front row seating for these events which allows for some awesome photos. With all the photos I take it gives me the perfect reason to scrap them! I'll be sharing some of those with all of you! I'm so excited to be part of this wonderful team and hope to inspire and be inspired along the way.

Nadine Carlier

Hello, my name is Nadine! I have been crafting for about 18 years now with scrapbooking, handmade cards, mixed media, and altered art projects being my favorite things to create, although I have done and love all things crafty. I would say my style would best be described as eclectic with a mixed media twist. Almost all my craft projects have some kind of mist or paint on them. Angèlique Jarrier

My name is Angèlique Jarrier. I'm 34 years old and I'm French. I live in a village close to Brest, close to the sea, which is called Plouescat, with my husband and my two children, Lilou (10 years) and Lucas (3 years). I am currently at home which allows me to enjoy the most beautiful moments of childhood with my children and leaves me time to scrapbook, the perfect combination of all my passions; photography, paper sculpture, creativity, and many others. Because this passion is constantly evolving in me, I like to try new techniques and find fun ways to capture our wonderful moments.I do not stick to a design style, I touch everything and I evolve according to inspiration. I can create a series of cards, to layouts, altered objects, mini-albums, or my favorite pastime creating paper sculptures. I am eager to help you discover all this thanks to the sublime kits.

Kathleen White

My name is Kathleen White and I hale from Wylie, Texas with my hubby and two little Boston Terrier babies. My three real children are grown and have flown the nest. I made my first layout in 2001 and was hooked on scrapping ever since. I love paper, flowers, bling, ribbons and lace..all those pretty things! I love to tear, wrinkle, sew and get messy with gesso, mists and paint. I also love photography and my main subjects are my daughters! I don't have a definite style...my creations can be vintage, shabby chic or loaded with paints, sprays and gesso...depending on my mood and inspiration on any given day. I love to design!

 Sara McDowall

Hi my name is Sara McDowall, I have been crafting for just over 2 years and have totally fallen in love with everything to do with it. I started out to make cards and have slowly progressed to altered projects. I have my own site on Facebook called Just Cards By Sara and a YouTube channel where I do start to finish project shares and techniques. The thing I love the most about crafting is how you can turn a simple piece of paper into a beautiful piece of art. I really enjoy mixed media, creating textures and distressing. I look forward to sharing my work with you all.

Hello, my name is Tina Rutledge. I live here on the west coast of sunny Forida with my husband and 5 children. I have 3 lovely duaghters and 2 sons ages 21-12. I'm fortunate to be at home being able to care for the needs of my family hands on, although that keeps me very busy. I have a love and passion for being crafty and creative. My favorite is paper crafting. I'm really excited to be joining the C'est Magnifique design team and working with their beautiful kits. Hopeful to share some inspiration. Kathy Bradley

I am happily married to my wonderful and supportive husband, Jim. We have one very handsome son and beautiful daughter-in-law and an adorable grandson in his Freshman year at college. I retired in 2009 after 35 years in the legal field, but do work about 9 hours per week (3 mornings) with a friend. I have been into crafting since 2008 - mostly cardmaking. In 2013 I started scrapbooking again - the new and improved style, as well as getting into mixed media - and I love both! My other hobbies include reading, a lot, and going to movies - nothing like the big screen! I am excited to be on the C'est Magnifique team with all the wonderfully talented ladies.

We would love to see YOU use our sketch as inspiration for a layout. We have very few rules for our Sketch Challenge. As a matter of fact, we have just one rule, we want your layout to resemble the sketch. Feel free to flip or rotate the sketch, but we do want to look at your layout and be able to see that you used the sketch. Other than that, you are free to use anything you have in your personal stash, and we welcome all styles of scrapbooking.

We will award two prizes for this sketch challenge. The first prize will be a collection of paper, flowers, chipboard, and embellishments selected by C'est Magnfique's owner Deonna. The winner of the prize package will also be able to shop in the C'est Magnifique Store, and have their purchases sent with the prize package, so that means you won't have to pay for shipping! Our second prize, a $10 gift certificate to the C'est Magnifique Store, will be awarded randomly to one of our participants who obviously uses one of our kits to create their Sketch Challenge layout. 

We will also choose 5 (or maybe more) layouts to feature on our blog!  

You have the entire month of October to submit your layout.

Deonna's October Kit Layout Tutorial

Hi! Deonna here today sharing a layout tutorial that I created using the October Kit, which features the beautiful Prima Garden Fable collection. I used the Main Kit, Flower Add-On and Embellishment Add-On to create this page.

Step 1. Cover the entire paper with gesso.

Step 2. Cut the green rectangles from the piece of Garden Fable "Blushing" patterned paper.

Step 3. Water down green Tim Holtz Distress Stain and brush it over the page.

Step 4. Distress the edges of the cut out green rectangles.

Step 5. Ink the edges of the distressed papers with green Distress Stain.

Step 6. Spritz the inked papers water to spread the color.

Step 7. Emboss the edges of the papers with an iridescent blue embossing powder.

Step 8. Ink and emboss several pieces of chipboard ephemera from the Prima Debutante Chipboard and More package of embellishments (Embellishment Add-On).

Step 9. Ink the petals of flowers (Flower Add-On), dip in embossing powder, and heat set.

Step 10. Ink and emboss the resin fairy from the Main Kit.

Step 11. Emboss several of the Garden Fable Wood Icons (Embellishment Add-On).

Step 12. Dilute green Tim Holtz Distress Stain, brush onto the background paper, and let it roll off the paper. While the ink is still wet, add embossing powder and heat set.

Step 13. Assemble the layout. Use a paintbrush to add diluted Distress Stain to select areas of the layout.

Here's some close-up photos of the embossed page elements. The embossing powder really catches the light, adding a fantastic shimmer to my layout.

Using the same process as above, I also created this blue layout.

Dana's October Kit Projects + Farewell

Hi! Dana Tatar here today sharing the projects I created with the C'est Magnifique October Kits. I had a blast working with the Prima Garden Fable collection. I used items from the Main Kit, Flower Add-On, Embellishment Add-On, Mixed Media Kit and Card Kit for my projects this month. This kit will be the last that I work with as a designer for C'est Magnifique Kit Club. It has been an amazing year, but it is time for me to move on. I've enjoyed sharing my work with you and have appreciated every comment and kind word that I have received during my term. The new Design Team Coordinator will be introduced next month, so please stay tuned!

I like to flip-flop between two major design styles, romantic and clean and simple. I have a pair of layouts in each style to share with you today. These kits are versatile!

I had a lot of fun fussy cutting the patterned papers as well as my photo for this layout featuring my niece.

I used the stencil, Gelato and mist from the Mixed Media Kit to create a colorful textured background for this page.

The leaves, flowers, nests, birds and architectural elements that I fussy cut from the patterned papers were super fun to layer over and under the house that is the focal point of my design.

I used one of my favorite family photos for this page. The beautiful Prima Evita Esme flowers from the Flower Add-On were perfect for a heritage layout! I used two patterned papers from the Card Kit, the solid kraft and the stitched animal print, to coordinate with the outfit of the woman in the photo.

I added bright pink flowers for a fun pop of color. I highlighted the roses on the patterned paper and the neutral colored flowers with the Guava (pink) Gelato from the Mixed Media Kit.

I went monochromatic for my two clean and simple layouts. I has fun mixing things up a bit using pink for a masculine page and blue for a feminine page.

I love this pink/red masculine layout that I created using a photo of my brother and his son as inspiration.

I criss-crossed pieces of washi tape over the background of the patterned paper and then covered it with a layer of the Opaque Medium from the Mixed Media Kit. I then added some color with the Guava Gelato and splatters of mist. I layered die-cuts, tags, stickers and small pieces of patterned paper under my photo and then finished the page with some flowers and rhinestones.

My last layout features my youngest niece. She is such a sweetheart! I pulled the blue papers, packaging and die-cuts from the kits for this page.

This large felt flower from the Flower Add-On adds a wonderful softness to this layout.

The small piece of Prima resin is one of my favorite embellishments from the Main Kit. It made a fantastic bow topper.

I created a small corner embellishment with piece of patterned paper, a die-cut and some rhinestones.
