C'est Magnifique Mixed Media Techniques and Tutorials Challenge

Hello dear C´est Magnifique friends, it´s Evelyn here! Today it´s time to host our second Mixed Media Challenge!

How does it work and what are you asked to do?  Every month we will ask you to use a Mixed Media Technique, special art supplies, ......... well, stay curious, what we will bring you in future! We will show you a Technique Tutorial so you can easily imitate on your project.

And the best of all, it is an Anything Goes Challenge! That means you can create, whatever your heart desires - create a layout, canvas, card, altered project, OTP project, art journal page.......... whatever you want! Of course you can combine our challenges, you only have to follow the rules.

It´s really fun and easy, isn´t it? 

So let´s start!

  The theme for our second Mixed Media Challenge is really an easy one:

ADD TEXTURE TO YOUR BACKGROUND IN 3 DIFFERENT WAYS! 

I´ve made a layout, where I show some variations of texture work for your background.

1. The challenge runs from February 4, 2016 and ends March 6, 2016 at midnight.

2. Create a project adding texture three different ways. You can create a layout, altered project, canvas, cards or  anything that inspires you using this technique.

Nadine's February Projects

Hello, everyone! Nadine here today sharing my projects using the February C'est Magnifique Kits.

My first layout "sweet" I used a cute photo of my daughter smelling a flower. The photo just seemed to go perfectly with the flower papers from the Kaisercraft Treasured Moment collection.

Here is a process video on this layout:

My next layout I had fun using some foil and a piece of a Hershey's Kiss packaging that I have been saving for awhile. The photo is of my daughter eating chocolate puppy that she got for Valentine's Day.

Next is a layout of my daughter and her cousins hanging out with a statue of a little girl reading a book.

Greetings C'est Magnifique fans!  Kathleen here to share my projects I created using the incredible Enchanted Garden Kit featuring Kaisercraft Treasured Moment paper collection.   Be sure to check back often to catch how the other amazingly talented ladies on the team have used these kits.

This was such a fun layout to create.  The base paper for this layout is the vibrant pink patterned paper "Wonder" and topped it with "Flashback" using both sides.  Next I started fussing cutting gorgeous frames and watches from the "Recall" paper followed by a few flowers from the "Memory" paper.  Then finish  off with a few of the stickers from the sticker sheet included in the kit.



 

I simply love the soft pick flowers and the bold green leaves included in the kit.  

 

Once again I used "Wonder" as my base paper top stitching it for a bit more definition.  Next I cut 1/2 inch off the top and side of the gorgeous floral "Memory" paper used  corner punch then top stitched it.

The Garden Fantasy kit comes with this fantastic die cut frame!  I trimmed off one side then fit a piece of "Timeless" paper in the center.  Once again I fussy cut a few more elements and added the around my picture for interest.  Next I cut the top paper in the center side and tacked it back revealing a bit of stenciling work.  Then I finished it all off with lots of leaves and flowers.

 



"Recollection" is a sweet Swiss dot paper just perfect for this photo of my daughter.  I think she looks a lot like Shirley Temple here with all of those curls!

stash items: stencil, cheese clothe, stamps and ink, dark pink paint and pink glitter from last months kit.

I started this layout with a polka dotted stencil and modeling paste.  I spritz it with the lovely soft pink paint included in last month's mixed media kit.  Using the doily included in the kit I used it as my focal frame and used just a touch of glue in the center so that I could tuck a few bits underneath.

Before setting my picture on top I cut a piece of  cheese clothe to flow across the page then I clipped  these adorable miniature clothes pin to either end of the gold ribbon, both of which are included in the kit, and draped it diagonally across the page.  The placed my photo and tiny frame using pop dots on top of the doily.  Finishing with flowers from the sticker sheet, cut out and others. 

 

Here is a double page pocket life project I created using only the main kit.  These are photos of my beautiful niece's family.  They did a birth announcement photo shoot with the whole crew.  How adorable is that little munchkin!

Evelyn´s January Projects

Hello all, it´s Evelyn here today and I want to show you my projects I did with the January kits. The papers are so very gorgeous and also all the Add Ons this time are loaded with  adorable goodies again. For my projects I used the Main Kit, Embellishment Add On, Flower Add On and the Mixed Media Kit.

For my first layout I used only a stencil and modeling paste for the background, built a some layers of paper to mat my photo. 

The leaves are real ivy leaves, I edged with snow paste of my stash and some gesso. The pretty little blossoms and blossom stam are from the Flower Add On, the metal piece is one of the mechanicals from the Mixed Media Kit.

For my second layout I used only the Main Kit and took one of the pictures from the Mood Board. The lace fits so perfect! 

I fuzzy cut one of the papers to add some interest to my layout and accentuated some parts with a black pencil. Into the middle of the flowers I set the pearl breads, they look so elegant.

For my next layout I used another photo from the mood board and used the milk paste from the Mixed Media Kit, some stamping, the chipboard of Blue Fern Studios, which I embossed and the beautiful flowers from the kits complete my layout.

For my next layout I used the picture from one of the papers from the  Main Kit. For the background I took the paints from the  Mixed Media Kit and did some stamping. The lace and the pretty doily just like the flowers are perfect for the vintage look.
