Sandi's Sneak Layouts with the September C'est Magnifique Kit

Hello, everyone! It's Sandi here today with my first post on the C'est Magnifique Blog along with my first Sneak Peek projects using the September 2013 kit "Shabby Dreams."

I'm married to a wonderfully scrap-supportive guy named Dan. We live in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area in Texas, USA and have 3 grown daughters, 3 wonderful son-in-laws and a whole bunch of sweet, sweet grandkids. I work part-time as an Audiologist in the medical field and love what I do.

Although I have been a crafter of some sort all my adult life, my sister-in-law introduced me to this hobby about 7 years ago and I fell in love! It is truly my passion and I enjoy every minute of it! Give me paper and some photos, and I'm in heaven! My style has changed considerably since I first started but that’s what I really enjoy ... learning new techniques and expressing myself though this amazing art form.

I am excited to begin a new adventure here at C'est Magnifique and look forward to getting to know lots of new faces. Thanks, Leslie for inviting me on the team. And thank you, Valerie, for all the assistance.

This September kit "Shabby Dreams" is truly amazing! Let me show you what I've done so far.

"Love"
I just had to use this sheet of the ScrapBerry paper with this wonderful printed image. I found just the right photo to pair with it of sweet family member, Olivia. Inspired by scrappy friend Marilyn Rivera, I did some major paper pleating, rumpling.  The paper folds seemed the perfect spot for placing a few pretty flowers.  I used my Damask stencil and molding paste on the left side of the page for a little added detail along with a bit of punch work. A little fussy cutting, some added tulle from my stash and a few things from the EAO completed this page.

I've used the Main kit, the flower add-on and embellishment add-on.
From my stash: stencil, molding paste, tulle and pearls.

Here are a few close-ups:

Next, I focused on highlighting the KaiserCraft papers but teamed them with some ScrapBerry.

"Happiness"
These were a dream to work with! This photo is of granddaughter Malerie at her recent wedding. The papers seemed so girly and perfect to use along with a bridal photo. I off-set the die cut sheet for some added interest.  Again, I've used a stencil from my stash to reflect the concept of time.

I've used the Main kit, the flower add-on and embellishment add-on.
From my stash: stencil, molding paste, pearls, mist.

My last share for today:

"Cherish"
This may be my favorite of these projects! I so love having granddaughters to scrap! This is my youngest, Marianne. She is "the princess" and so probably deserves to be surrounded by beautiful flowers and embellishments. Don't you love the sweet Blue Fern Studios bunting from the add-on? I've painted it and then stippled on a layer of white Gesso. I've used an Inkido stamp from my stash to the right of the photo for a bit of contrast behind my other embellishments. A generous amount of Gesso wash was utilized to bring everything together.

I've used the Main kit, the flower add-on and embellishment add-on.
From my stash: stamp, seam binding, doilies, Gesso.

Here are few close-ups:

That's all from me today! Thanks for coming by.

Please check back in a couple of days because Tracey will be sharing some projects to inspire you.
