Meet our October Guest Designer

We are very excited to introduce you to Natasha, our October guest designer.  She has been working with our October Kit, "Summer's Last Dance" (behind the scenes, of course) and you're going to love what she has created for you!  I'll turn it over to Natasha and let her introduce herself, then show you how she has used the kit.

Hello, my name is Ntaliya Serova.  I live in a small town in Ukraine.  I moved here from Russia five years ago, and found this hobby - scrapbooking.  I discovered scrapbooking in 2009, but I was seriously carried away just after the birth of my daughter, in 2011. I adore making pages and albums about her.  I also love to create various art objects.

I really like to do the tutorials, probably, because I graduated from Pedagogical University.  At the moment I have published more than 80 articles and tutorials, including magazines (published in Russia – Magic Paper, Scrapbooking. Creative lifestyle)

I cannot do my projects in a concrete style (freestyle, vintage, shabby-chic, etc).  Each of my work itself selects which it will be: gentle, strong, or, perhaps, fun and mischievous.  In scrapbooking the selected photo determines everything.  In cardmaking it's my mood and, of course, the materials with which I work.  My favorite materials (not including paper) - it is chipboard and die-cuts.  I love stamps and hot embossing and creating multi-layered project.  I also love butterflies, fussy cutting and tinted.

I love to experiment, love to share my findings with other people and I get great pleasure from the process and the result of my work.

True Love

I used 7Dots paper, Alpha Stickers & My Mind's Eye Chipboard Elements - Chalk Studio Frame

Us

 This is layout about me and my husband.   I used 7Dots paper & Alpha Stickers, Pink Paislee
Butterfly Clips from October Kit and My Mind's Eye Chipboard Elements - Chalk Studio
from the Embellishment Add-on. I covered Blue Fern Studios chipboard with Shimmerz Texturez.
I also added some cutting elements.

You and Me

The photo that I used on this layout is of my daughter and me.
I used 7dots paper, Elements & Alpha Stickers from October Kit , along with My Mind's Eye Chipboard Elements - Chalk Studio from Embellishment Add-on.
I also added a die cut butterfly and flourish.

Lonely

 For this LO I used 7dots paper and Alpha Stickers, PinkPaislee mask from October Kit,  Prima Clear Stamp, and Blue Fern Studios chipboard from Embellishment Add-on.
I also added some paint and glitter.

Two Cards

Also I made 2 cards with the October kit.  First expressive card from 7Dots Paper.  I used the Manor House flower, Blue Fern Studios chipboard, Maya Road Satin Scallop Edge Trim, the spray from Shimmerz, and a butterfly, of course.
The second classical card is made from Tilda Paper.  I just cut the elements from paper, added some liquid pearls and My Mind's Eye Chalk Studio Chipboard Elements.

A big thank you, Natasha, from all of us at C'est Magnifique Kits.  It has been our pleasure to have you join the team for October!

Welcome to October!  For us at C'est Magnifique Kits that means we have introduced a new kit.  In case you missed our post yesterday, you can find it here.  We have some of our October Kits available in the Store

A new month also means a new sketch!  The October sketch, designed just for us by Michele Singh, has been popular with our design team and we're pretty sure you will love it, too.

To help you get started, here's how our Design Team used the sketch, along with our October Kit:

Sandi Clarkson

We would love to see your layouts using our sketch.  Our Sketch Challenge is open to everyone and you may use any supplies you have on hand.  You do not need to be a member of our kit club to participate.  You do not have to use any specific products.  Feel free to flip or rotate the sketch, but we do want to be able to look at your layout and tell that you used the sketch.

We will be awarding two prizes.  The winners will be selected by a random draw.  The first prize is this beautiful assortment of paper and embellishments that we have put together.  The winner of this prize package will also be able to shop in the C'est Magnifique Store, and have their purchases sent with the prize package, so that means you won't have to pay for shipping.

Our second prize, a $10 gift certificate to the C'est Magnifique Store,  will be awarded randomly to one of our participants who obviously uses one of our kits to create their Sketch Challenge layout.
We will also chose 5 (or maybe more) layouts to feature on our blog!
You have the entire month of October to submit your layout.

What do you have to do to enter our sketch challenge?

1.  You must be a follower of our blog.  It's easy to become follower -see the left sidebar.

October Kit preview with Svetlana

Hello to all scrappy friends out there!
Today is my turn to give you some sneaks on October kit.

I enjoyed, and I am certain that you also will, all the bright colors, textures and contrasts of this kit.

Be Happy }

7 Dots papers that are included in this month's kit are perfect for those of you who don't have time or bravery to get messy and create a mixed media backgrounds for your projects. But I couldn't resist to alter the papers even more with stamps, washi tapes, gesso, textured paste, mists and paint. All that helped me to create very dynamic layout to complement an action photo of my son having fun time on the beach.

From my stash: gesso, masks, paint, glimmer mist, stamps, twine, gause, pearls, cotton thread for hand stitching.

The King's Walden's Guardian }

This photo of me was taken at a very beautiful place - King's Walden gardens. This blue gum tree was hit by lightning many years ago but remained standing. Over the years it became the symbol of this place standing still and tall as a guardian.
I added bright pink roses that I fussy cut from one of the Tilda papers. It goes so well with the garden theme.
I used dark brown liquid pearls to draw the branches of the tree on my page.

From my stash: gesso, paint, glimmer mist, stamps, pearls, liquid pearls, cotton thread for hand stitching.

A Day At Kaapsehoop }

A few month back we visited a little place called Kaapsehoop. We spend a lovely day exploring it. Once we got to this old stone building, the ruggedness of it inspired us for a few shots.
I like how the colors on the main paper I used here go along with the colors on my photo. I changed bright pink flowers by painting it with gesso and then I sprayed it with glimmer mist. In this way they complement the colors on my page.

From my stash: gesso, glimmer mist, texture paste, mask, stamps, liquid pearls, paper doilies, paper leaves, twine, and cotton thread for hand stitching.

Be Free To Be You }

I truly had great fun creating this canvas. I let it all go and let it just be. The colors and the whole style is not typical mine but that was the point of the whole project - just do it and don't look back on what you know or used to :-)

From my stash: gesso, glimmer mists, texture paste,stamps, liquid pearls, paper leaves, black pen, and bling.

Thank you for letting me share! I hope you enjoyed my projects.

Come back again because in a couple of days we will be having the full kit reveal!
