May Kit Layouts from Valerie

I love Fridays because the weekend is almost here!  Hopefully you have some happy plans for the weekend.  Today it's my turn to share a couple of layouts I created using the May Kit.  There is only one kit remaining in the store as of this morning, so if you want it, you'd better hurry!

First up is a layout featuring a photo of my sweet dog, Kiefer.  He is my constant companion and keeps me company by snoozing in his bed under my scrap table.  I have used items from the May Kit, Embellishment Add-on, Flower Add-on, and the Magnifique Mixed Media Kit (sold out).

Here are a couple of close-ups.  From my stash I added a vintage book page, some seam binding, and a doily.

My second layout today is a bit different from me, but I had fun creating it.  I loved the playfulness of the self adhesive cardstock stickers in the the Mixed Media kit this month.  They worked so well with this photo of my granddaughter.  Yellow is a color I don't work with often, and after using some of the yellow in this month's kit, I realize that I need to use it more.  It adds such a sunny look!

Once again, I combined items from the May Kit, and all 3 add-ons.  I love the sweet little designs on this month's paper from Pion Designs of Sweden.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

"Love" Layout - May Magnifique Mixed Media - with Kelly

Good morning, everyone!
I am here to share another project using the beautiful May MMM Kit. This (Sold out) kit was such a pleasure to work with..I very much enjoyed the pastels this month!

"Love"

I absolutely adore those Crate Paper Chipboard Stickers...so much fun for layering and unique details.
I started the background with the Tim Holtz stencil, modeling paste, followed by the Stampendous Embossing Enamel from the kit. I also did some more subtle masking with the two 13 Arts mists. I continued to layer colors and textures. Finally, I added just a touch of orange paint here and there as subtly as possible so that it all tied together well with my photo.

Here's one more look at the kit...

I hope you have had a great weekend :)
See you soon!

Meet our May Guest Designer

It is our pleasure to have the very talented Ragnhild Kleiven join us in May as our Guest Designer.  She has created some amazing layouts with our May Kit, "Simple Elegance".  So we'll turn in over to Ragnhild so she can tell you all a little bit about herself:

I am Ragnhild Kleven and I live in Trondheim in Norway  I am a happy and involved mom who loves to document these lovely moments of the family.  I am very interested in photography and photo editing. I think it 's so fun to sit and play around with it.But even better when I get those images out on paper and can sit down and create layouts .  I'm enjoying myself then. ;)

I scrapbook and make really all sorts of things, cards, layouts, mini albums and boxes etc.  My first encounter with scrapping was in 2007 and layouts in 2008 when I gave birth Emilie.
I have always kept slightly to the shabby part, and preferably a little soft colors.   Pink with lots of roses and stuff, I like that. ;)

My style has changed little during the past time. I have suddenly become very fond of bright colors, I think is fun and try to use the colors more now.

When Sebastian was born, I felt I had to try to get a little out of the romantic shabby style and try something a little more "boyish" which has been an exciting journey.   And I'm still learning lots of new things all the time.  One thing is for sure, this is the hobby I'm going to have  for the rest of my life.  I think it's so nice to sit down and make something. Its just absolutely amazing being creative and playing around with colors.

I am so grateful that I got the chance to design for you, with these totally awesome products in the kit. I have really enjoyed myself making these layouts, and cards. Thank you very much for the opportunity. :)

The picture of Sebastian, my youngest son is taken on the National Day of Norway, May 17, 2013.
We decorate ourselves with our national costumes Bunad and march in parades with bands and eat cakes and sausages in bread. A fantastic day! :)  Here I have used sheets and embellishments from the main kit, Flowers from the Flower Add-on kit and spray and decorations from the Mixed Media Kit.  And some more Embellishment from the Embellishment Add-on kit.

A picture of Emilie out walking in the woods with me.  I have used flowers and embellishment from the main kit.  Stencil and blue spray are from the Mixed Media kit.  Beside the kit and add-on kit, I have used distress ink, white paint and cardboard.

A picture of Emilie and the sweet cake we baked on her 5 birthday in 2013.  On this layout I used the packaging that comes with the stencil in the Mixed Media Kit to get some contrast to the purple color.
Blue spray, flowers and lots Embellishments from the Mixed Media Kit.  Paper from the main kit.
Besides the kit and add-on kit, I used Distress ink.

 A birthday card.
Paper, stamps, letters, and the little fairy from the main kit.
From the Embellishment Add-On Kit: Crochet Doilie, pearls.
And the flower from the Flower add-on kit.
Stencil and yellow paint and spray from the Mixed Media Kit.
Besides the kit and add-on kit I used cardboard.

My sweetest Sebastian from our holiday in 2012. Located and relaxing under a blanket on the grass by the beach.  The sheets are from the main kit. Stencil, yellow paint, a few embellishments and some flowers from the Mixed Media Kit.  Flowers from the flower add-on kit.

From the Embellishment Add-on kit, I have used the Blue Fern Studios: Chipboard Rose Frame,
but I have cut out pieces of it and painted them with yellow paint.  On this layout I used the packaging that comes with the flowers in the Flower add-on kit to get some more of the green color from the flowers.

From the main kit I used some embellishments, and paper.  The background is cardboard.
From the Mixed Media Kit I have used yellow and blue spray and some embellishments.
From the embellishment add-on kit I used Resin Clocks and pearls.
Flowers from the Flower Add-on kit.
Besides the kit I used white paint, distress ink and cardboard and some lace.

Thanks so much Ragnhild.  We love having you and your creative style this month!

There are lots of possibilities with this sketch.  Take a look at how some members of our Design Team used the sketch along with our May Kit, "Simple Elegance".

We would love to see YOU use our sketch as inspiration for a layout.  We have very few rules for our Sketch Challenge........as a matter of fact, we have just one rule.......we want your layout to resemble the sketch.  Feel free to flip or rotate the sketch, but we do want to look at your layout and be able to see that you used the sketch.  Other than that, you are free to use anything you have in your personal stash, and we welcome all styles of scrapbooking.

We will award two prizes for this sketch challenge.  The first prize will be a collection of paper, flowers, chipboard, and embellishments.  The winner of the prize package will also be able to shop in the C'est Magnifique Store, and have their purchases sent with the prize package, so that means you won't have to pay for shipping.

Our second prize, a $10 gift certificate to the C'est Magnifique Store,  will be awarded randomly to one of our participants who obviously uses one of our kits to create their Sketch Challenge layout.
We will also chose 5 (or maybe more) layouts to feature on our blog!
You have the entire month of May to submit your layout.

What do you have to do to enter our sketch challenge?

1.  You must be a follower of our blog.  It's easy to become follower -see the left sidebar.

2.  Create a layout using the sketch, and add it to our blog using the Inlinkz tool below.  Please link to the blog post where you have uploaded your layout  (not your general blog address). If you do not have a blog, you may link to an online gallery.

Deadline for entering the sketch challenge is midnight, May 31, 2014 (US time).
Have fun with the sketch.  We can't wait to see how you use it!

May Kit Layouts by Bonnie

Hi! Bonnie blogging today, and I will be showing you 2 layouts that I have made with the gorgeous May kit! These 2 layouts feature 2 darling sisters, and are very special girls, especially to their Mother, who is my cousin! Thanks Karen for sharing your photos with me! The papers in this kit are so soft and delicate and suited my subjects perfectly. In my first layout, I tried to recreate the background in which the photo could of been taken. I really loved the netting surrounding Madelyn and her bear friend and I mimicked that using cheese cloth. I used the blue and yellow sprays from the MMM kit to represent the sun and the sky. They also went perfectly with Madelyn's dress!
To create this layout I used the Main kit, the Embellishment add on, the Flower add on and the MMM kit. From my own stash I used, molding paste, gesso, cheese cloth, stamps, archival ink, chalk ink, dies, leaves, butterfly punch.

Close ups:

Here we have Danika, a living doll! I did lots of layering with the papers and tags and such that came in the kit and add ons. I really loved the Blue Fern Chipboard frame, and I painted it white, and then I stamped on it with a musical stamp, and then used the embossing enamel and yellow paint along the edges. So much fun to alter!  I did some random stamping and a little bit of mixed media work.
To create this layout I used the Main Kit, the Embellishment add on, the Flower add on, and the MMM Kit. From my stash I used: stencil, molding paste, mists, stamps, archival ink, die, leaves, lace.

Close Ups:
Thanks for stopping by and please visit my blog over  the next few days for more reveals from the May kit from me!  Tune in tomorrow for our total kit reveal! You will not be disappointed!

Be Blessed!

Ulrika May Kit Layouts!

Today it´s my turn to show you what I created with the amazing May kit. I totally loved working with this kit and I made five very different pages and I will show you four of them today.

On this page I let the large frame set my design. I wanted the monkey to hang from one of the corners. I also chosed my theme from the hanging monkey. I love playing with titles. I painted my frame with Gesso and green Acrylic paint. Last I dabbed the brown stamp pad on the frame.

For this layout I used papers, stickers, stamp pad, Hydrangeas and yellow Roses from the Main Kit. From the Embellishment Kit I used pearls, frame, tags, stickers and doilies. The green Botanica flowers and both Ballroom and Castle flowers are from the Flower Add-on.

From my own stash I used green Cradtsock, Gesso and Acrylic Paint.

My next layout have a totally different color scheme. I started by spraying the pretty ribbon with a purple mist and cut off the rhinestone string. I fussy cutted a frame and cut out some banners.

For this page I used papers, ribbon, stamp pad, Garden Gate Chipboards and flowers from the Main kit. From the Flower Add-on kit I used Ballroom, Castle and Andorra flower. The clocks come from the Embellie Add-on kit and the small purple flowers are from the MM kit.

From my own stash I used a large doilie.

This page is for sure very ironic. But at my age I can joke a bit about myself. Here I worked with many layers and both dies and punches. I also sprinkled my page with the lovely chunky embossing powder. This gives almost a fairy effect on my layout. Very cool!

For this layout I used papers, Garden Gate Chipboards, stickers and pink Hydrangeas from the Main Kit. The beige flowers are from the Flower Add-on. The purple flowers and the Embossing Enamel from the MM Kit.

From my own stash I used dies, punches and doilies.

We have arrived at my last layout! For today because I also have one for the May Sketch!
Here I went for much more Mixed-media style. I started with my background. On the background I used a Stencil and a stamp. I also used sprays and paint. To get cool contrasts I used black on the stamp and I also used a black pen around the edges.

For this layout I used papers, stamp and a Rose from the Main Kit. The blue stickers are from the Embellie Kit. From the Flower Add-on I used the Ballroom and the Penny Lane Roses. I also used both sprays, the Ayeeda paint, Stencil, Wood Charms and Botanica Minis from The Mixed-media kit.

From my own stash I used Gesso and a black pencil.

Thanks for watching and I hope you also will love this kit as much as I did!

Hugs from Ulrika!
