"Cheers" by Beverly Sams

When my son went to New Zealand last year on his training cruise,
he and a few buddies went to this wonderful vineyard.
He graciously allowed me to use some of his photos for this layout

"Baby" by Valerie Serfozo

I love the softness of this paper and knew that it would be perfect with a photo of my tiniest nephew, Keegan. He is such a sweetie and I think his little fist in this photo is so sweet.

"A Mother's Rose" by Nadia Cannizzo
Here is a rare photo of me with one of my children. I am always the one taking photos but am hardly in front of the camera.   I had this photo printed out and was waiting for the right layout so the quote die cut from Kaisercraft was perfect.

" Down Argentina Way" by Joyce Lawrence

One of the two squares is made out of corrugated paper and some mulberry paper glued on top. Once the glue dried, I used a paper piercer and ripped off some of the mulberry paper by placing the paper piercer in the vertical corrugated grooves. Then I used a butterfly stamp on top of that and finished if off with some glitter glue. Unfortunately, the large wine colored flower covers up some of the cool aspects of that technique, but don’t fret, I like using this technique and I’m sure you’ll be seeing more of it in the future. The other square has a tag inside and a hand written message to my b/f.

"Love the View" by Leslie Kammerdiener
This is my son Kevin's best friend Ronnie with his girl, Marissa. We invited them along to Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon a couple of months ago and I managed to
snap this shot of the two of them arm in arm just looking at the view.

"Far & Dotter" by Camilla Ekman
The C'est Magnifique Design Team are guests at Creative Scrappers this week.
I have created this layout for the sketch #218 using the lovely August kit.
In the picture you see my husband and our daughter. ♥♥♥

"Diva" by Erin Blegen
My niece Lilah is adorable, what more can I say? I love this picture of her- it really foreshadows what is to come from this sassy little redhead! I really wanted the colors
to compliment her style :). For the frames to the left and right of my photos
I used the die-cut frames from the Lake House pack included in the
embellishment add-on, flipped them over, and used a Prima stamp from my stash
(from the July C'est Magnifique kit) and stamped the vines all over the surface.

We sure hope you enjoyed these layouts using the August Kit from C'est Magnifique.  The August Kit features paper from Maja Designs and is now available for purchase in our Store.  The flower and embellishment add-ons, some individual items from the add-ons, and the Maja Designs paper is also in the Store.

Share a Moment with Leslie

Hi everyone.  This time around we have a layout created by Leslie using the beautiful August Kit with paper from Maja Designs.

This is my daughter in a hat that we covered with all those older Prima flowers from the milk bottles!  She went to a tea party and had to wear a fancy hat.
They were having a contest on who had the best design and she won!

A Peek From Nadia

Today it's Nadia's turn to show you a layout using the August Kit.

"A Perfect Day" by Nadia Cannizzo

So I will sound like a dag here, but if anyone was to ask me what my perfect weekend would be I would say one that I spend with my children and family at home or doing something fun like bike riding through a park or country drives. I have made sure that nothing interferes with our family time on the weekend. It is so precious to me and I just think its such an important time to bond at the end of a week. Like most people we are pretty busy too and quite often get sidetracked with "life"and commitments and I think quality time with the kids is lost somewhere in between. SO weekends are scared for me.

A New Challenge!

I have some wonderful news for all of you.  We have decided to add a another monthly challenge to our blog.  We already have the sketch challenge, which runs from the first to the last day of the month.  This new challenge will run from the 15th of the month to the 14th of the following month.  That way we will always have two challenges going on and you will have an entire month to work on each of them.

This new challenge is our "Word Challenge".  Each month we will give you a word, and you must use that word (or a form of it) on your layout.  The word must be visible in either your title or your journaling.

Our first word will be "Grow".  There are so many ways you can use this word.  The words growth, growing, grows, grown, etc. can also be used.

You do not have to be a member of C'est Magnifique Kits to participate in this challenge, but there will be an additional prize randomly awarded to someone who uses one of our kits.  More about that in a little bit.

We will be awarding 2 prizes for this challenge.  The first will be this awesome prize package that Leslie has put together (with a minimum value of $40).   One lucky winner, chosen by a random draw, will receive this prize.  The winner will also have an opportunity to shop in our store and any purchases will be shipped with the prize package, free of charge, anywhere in the world!

Because we are a kit club, our second prize will be a $10 gift certificate to the C'est Magnifique Store.  This prize will be randomly awarded to someone who obviously uses one of our kits to create their layout.  This is our way of saying 'thank you' to our members.

We will also be choosing 5 layouts to feature.

What do you have to do to enter our "Word" challenge?

1.  You must become a follower of our blog.  If you're already a follower, we thank you!
It's easy to become follower, just look for this on the left side our blog.

2.  Complete a layout using the word "Grow", and add it to our blog
using the Inlinkz tool at the very bottom of this post.

Deadline for entering the sketch challenge is midnight, August 14 (US time).

Here are a couple of examples from Design Team members using the August Kit
and the word "Grow" on their projects.

"Growing Together" by Nadia Cannizzo

Here are my 2 girls walking together in a march for our Greek Independence Day here in Sydney. The little one just follows on and is growing up much faster than I would like because she had no choice. She has to keep up with an older sibling. It was hard having 2 children 2 years apart...I won't lie. But it surely is paying off now that they are together and look for each other all the time.

"Grow" by Joyce Lawrence
Using this months “Word” challenge, I created an  album for my niece. This album captures various years of her life in which I watched her grow into a vivacious young adult. On the Petaloo vine spray, I painted it with Gesso and inked it to match the colors of the paper I was working with.  Love that Gesso, it can mask a lot of sins and change an object that’s a color you can’t work it, or just want to change it to the colors of your choice.

Prima: Bead Pins
Dusty Attic: Med Frame

"(You Are) Looking So Grown Up" by Valerie Serfozo

I'm so excited that we have added another challenge! When I heard that our first word was going to be "Grow", I immediately thought of my granddaughter, Eryn. When she was younger (3 or 4 years old), I asked her to stop growing and stay little forever. She looked at me with sad eyes and said, "Grandma, I can't". I'm sure you've had those times when you wish time would stand still. It just reminds me to enjoy each and every day.

We hope you will show us how you use the word 'Grow" on your layout!

Our August Paper and Add-Ons

The design team is busy working with the August kit and I'm hearing nothing but good things from them. The paper in our August kit is from a Swedish manufacturer that we have not used in the past - Maja Designs. This paper is beautiful!  The true softness of it and the subtle details do not show well in photos, but you will love this heavy weight paper.  You may purchase a Paper Add-on, or a collection of this paper in our store.

We are also previewing our add-ons this month, beginning with the Flower Add-on.  This add-on includes items from Petaloo, Green Tara, Prima, Webster's Pages, and Manor House.

In our Embellishment Add-on you will find an alphabet from Jillibean soup, as well as items from KaiserCraft, Dusty Attic, May Arts, Teresa Collins, and some beautiful pins from Prima.

Some individual items from these add-ons are also available in the store.

Here is your first chance to see one of the layouts created by the design team
using the August kit.

"23 Mos." by Erin Blegen

I love the variety of color available in the August kit! I tend to turn my photos black and white, but there are certain ones I really feel need to remain in color- like this one of my middle child, Gunner. I am in love with his big brown eyes and the shades of these particular papers and flowers allowed me to let his beauty shine in color!
