We Welcome our June Guest Designer - Lisa Gregory

This month we have the pleasure of adding the very talented to Lisa Gregory to our design team as our Guest Designer.  Wow, has she ever impressed us with her creativity!  You are going to love how she has used our June Kit, Dream in Pastel.  Now I will turn over this post over to Lisa, who will tell you a little bit about herself, then show you how she has used the kit.

Hi, My name is Lisa and by profession I am a registered nurse. I am married to my high school sweetheart and we have 2 children who are now successful young adults.  I have been a crafter my whole life. Back in 2005, when my son was doing his senior project with his girlfriend (who is now his wife) they were creating a scrapbook of their lives. They elicited my help as I was the crafty one. We took a ride to The Dollar Tree (our local dollar store) who had a section dedicated to scrap booking;  papers, albums, embellishments, flowers, and we grabbed everything we could find. I knew about the new way of scrap booking, but never gave it any thought until that trip to The Dollar Tree. After helping the kids create their albums , I was curious as to where I could get more "scrap booking stuff". So I drove to our local Michaels and Joanns craft stores. That is when I became hooked.

Then I sought out the local scrapbook stores and found stuff I didn't even know existed until then. I shopped and shopped and shopped some more. I found online galleries and saw the kind of scrap booking the artists did. I was amazed at the styles. It just wasn't cut and paste and stickers. It was 3 dimensional, it was gorgeous, and oh so inspiring. So I created a gallery, created my first layout and the rest is history. My style has changed a bit throughout the years, but playing with paper and scissors is still so therapeutic for me. I am honored and excited to be Guest Designing for C'est Magnifique.

Thanks everyone!  Be sure to stop back on June 1st when we will be posting our June Sketch Challenge.

Wow, next week we will be revealing our June Kit, but we can show you a couple more sneaks today.  Designers Larissa and Valerie will share a layout and you will see some pretty good hints as to what's coming up in the kit.

"Note Book" by Larissa Albernaz

Prima is so fabulous that even the packaging is amazing, so I could not resist using it as a grid and shadowbox in order to put this layout together. The small squares just got an incredible look with all the chipboard and gorgeous embellishments that come with this month´s kit.

Sneak Peek # 2

Hey there!  As promised, we are back with a another sneak peek at our June kit, featuring paper from Maja Design, a Swedish company.  Designers Erin and Camilla have both created gorgeous layouts and we're sure you will find them inspiring.

"I Won't" by Erin Blegen

My middle child Gunner is nearing 3 years of age and has never had his hair cut. For some reason, I cannot bear the thought of cutting his beautiful golden locks- and nearly everyone I know gives me a hard time about it (including my husband)! I'm just not ready for it- and neither is he :).
These sweet photos were taken recently on one of our first spring days. The beautiful Maja papers were the perfect compliment to them, and I enjoyed piecing apart the Fancy Fob Watch chipboard piece to accent each part of my visual triangle.

 From the Flower Add-On:
Maya Road: Afternoon Tea Trim Pack: Milk (I used the tulle edging to create my bows)
Prima: Summer Carnation Vine: Thistle
Prima: Giselle: Haze
Petaloo: Mixed Textured Blossoms: Amber
Petaloo: Mixed Blossoms: Soft Pink

"Adore" by Camilla Ekman

Purple...I love purple! Just look at how gorgeous it is together with the green and the pink.
In this layout I built up a photo mat in several layers.
This makes the photo pop next to all the gorgeous flowers.

 From the Flower Add-on:
Prima: Summer Carnation Vine: Thistle
Petaloo: Mixed Blossoms: Soft Pink

From the Embellishment Add-on:
KaiserCraft: WoodenFlourishes: Borders
Petaloo: Sheer Butterflies: Blue/Pink/Yellow

Other: dies, book page, tags, gesso, stamps, alpha dies (QK), paper clip,
mask, doily, texture paste, border punch

Enjoy your weekend!

"Cute" by Brit Sviggum

I think the children are so cute here. They were so happy to finally use a t-shirt (in Tenerife). But when we got back to Norway it was only 1 degree Celcius and heavy wind!!!!

I love this picture of my DD lying on the couch with her bunny. She loves that bunny so much and loves to cuddle with him on the couch. I got inspired by the cherry blossom flowers on the Maja papers and imitated it with a stencil and with flowers from the kit. I used all the pink tones in this Kit for this layout.

Inspiration Today from Erin and Keren

Welcome to the weekend everyone and Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there.  We would like to share a few projects by design team members, Erin and Keren, who both happen to be moms themselves.  Both have used our May Kit, Spring's Portrait, to create their layouts.  We currently have just 1 kit remaining in the store.

"My Rainbow to Keep" by Erin Blegen

It's amazing how long it takes sometimes to get a special photo scrapped. My sister took this picture of Aspen and myself on Aspen's 1st birthday and I've had it printed since that time (last September). This page just seemed to be "the one" to get it done :). I wanted to make it very feminine and simple and though the white space isn't my usual thing, it just felt right here.

Altered Box by Erin Blegen

I am loving doing altered projects at this moment, and this box was such a fun treat to put together! I think that "busier" patterns work great on projects like these, so I took advantage of this gorgeous paper from Les Papiers de Pandore before tackling the cluster work up top. As we draw nearer to Mother's Day, I thought this would be a nice gift for my mom...or maybe even my mother-in-law (depending on my mood- ha!).

 Classy Chick by Keren Tamir

These two little black patent shoes are my daughter's high heel shoes. She loves wearing them all the time even if its not for a party. I had to take a picture of them to remember her with these shoes at this age. She's only 6 years old but she loves dressing up as if she's much older.

 Inspirational Canvas by Keren Tamir

I made this 12x24 Canvas using the Webster pages papers from this kit and lots of mixed media techniques. I really love this quote by Helen Keller and I wanted to portray it in a canvas so I can hang it on my wall. I used lots of sprays and Acrylic paint to make branches,
leaves and bird cages on the canvas.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Now we'll turn this post over to Brit and Valerie who will show you how they have used our May Kit, "Spring's Portrait"

"The Biggest Star" by Brit Sviggum

This is my friend`s son, Jesper. He loves to dress out as the famous Norwegian pirate character; Kaptein Sabeltann.  So here he is: the one and only; the big pirate star; Jesper Sabeltann !!!

"My Family" by Brit Sviggum

"The Cute Factor" by Valerie Serfozo

My niece, Makenzie, is so busy all the time, but she does have those angelic moments, too. This month's kit has so many beautiful colors and gorgeous flowers to cut out.

"Life" by Valerie Serfozo

There are two things that I'm drawn to right now - using the blue/teals in this kit, and printing my photos with a white border. I'm sure you all go through stages where you like using the same products, colors, or techniques. I love this sweet photo of my granddaughter, who just turned 16.

Thanks for stopping by.  Be sure to enter our Bits & Pieces Giveaway, if you haven't already.

Bits & Pieces Giveaway!

Hi everyone!  Today we're giving you a chance to win Leslie's Bits & Pieces from her May kit.  She is one busy woman, and always has a lot remaining from her kit each month.  She graciously gives away what she has remaining to one of our lucky blog readers.

Before we post the details for the Giveaway, take a quick look at how design team member, Camilla, used our beautiful May Kit.

"So Girly" by Camilla Ekman

This girl is the most girly girl I know. She loves to dress up in princess dresses and high heels and she is only three. All these flowers from the kits suits her so well. LOL

"Hannah" by  Camilla Ekman

I had so much fun making this page. It is very simple, yet very flowerly. I have just used some cut-outs from one of the Webster's papers and some stamps. Of course I had to add some gorgeous flowers from the kits too.

April Sketch Challenge Winners!

Happy National Scrapbook Day!  I hope you were able to carve out a little time from your day to do something scrapbook related.

Our May Kit "Spring's Portrait" has been very popular, and is quickly becoming a favorite.  We were able to put together a few more kits which are available in our Store.  A few of the items from our Add-ons are also available for purchase individually.  Here's a look at the May kit and a couple of layouts from design team member, Larissa:

"Maturity" by Larissa Albernaz

This layout portrays one reflexive moment, so I have used the journaling notecards to
find some great words about age and maturity.

"Dreams" by Larissa Albernaz

Layout created using the May sketch.

"Sweetest Thing" by Carol Pimentel de Oliveira of Brazil

"Hello" by Camila Borssoi of Brazil
