Teresa's January Kit Reveal

It's Teresa here and my first post using these amazing kits from C'est Magnifique... This month we are using papers from Blue Fern Studios, and it was really fun to make up my pages and quick to do since there are so many fun things to play with in the kits.

For my family time page, I used the basic kit for the base and then added on layers of paper and flowers from the kit to frame the photo.  The really cool chipboard piece was also in my kit and to give it a more white look I painted it with gesso and let it dry.  I also did the leaves too since they were a little too dark but they worked really well after the paint.  The tags and letters that I put on it also came in the basic kit... nice to have everything that matches so well.

For my Nepal page, I used the balloon paper for the base and then cut a strip of the blue lacy paper that went with it to make a border.  On that, i added an ivory doily that I cut from a Spellbinders die and then layered lots of flowers from the Flower Add-on.  In the mixed media kit, we got a fun strip of that white netting, so I gathered that up and put it under the flowers.  I love textures, so this was a fun addition to play with.  And I added some letters and just a bit of spackle to add more interest to it.

This is one of my favorite pages just because I love the beautiful rich colors in it and the patterns, and it worked really well with my picture.  I have a huge folder of photos to print on my computer, so it was nice to get this one up and done.  I also used the netting and the chipboard on this page and the pretty flowers that come in the set.  You also get lace, and I cut that in half and for a border and used the small adhesive white paper flowers to the side of the journaling box.  Oh, and I used some of the pretty green ribbons that I got in the kit too... super fun and super easy.

And my last page is of my cousins wedding.  This was such a cute picture of all of them and the papers worked really good.  I did really simple layering of the papers to make the photo pop and then added a flower border under it and the title.  The mixed media kit also comes with a really pretty pink embossing powder, and I used that just to make it glisten over the painted pink stencil I did on the background.

This year I challenge you to try something new a different way... and don't be afraid because you may be amazed at how much you love how it came out!!  Thanks so much for stopping by!
