Dana's October Kit Projects + Farewell

Hi! Dana Tatar here today sharing the projects I created with the C'est Magnifique October Kits. I had a blast working with the Prima Garden Fable collection. I used items from the Main Kit, Flower Add-On, Embellishment Add-On, Mixed Media Kit and Card Kit for my projects this month. This kit will be the last that I work with as a designer for C'est Magnifique Kit Club. It has been an amazing year, but it is time for me to move on. I've enjoyed sharing my work with you and have appreciated every comment and kind word that I have received during my term. The new Design Team Coordinator will be introduced next month, so please stay tuned!

I like to flip-flop between two major design styles, romantic and clean and simple. I have a pair of layouts in each style to share with you today. These kits are versatile!

I had a lot of fun fussy cutting the patterned papers as well as my photo for this layout featuring my niece.

I used the stencil, Gelato and mist from the Mixed Media Kit to create a colorful textured background for this page.

The leaves, flowers, nests, birds and architectural elements that I fussy cut from the patterned papers were super fun to layer over and under the house that is the focal point of my design.

I used one of my favorite family photos for this page. The beautiful Prima Evita Esme flowers from the Flower Add-On were perfect for a heritage layout! I used two patterned papers from the Card Kit, the solid kraft and the stitched animal print, to coordinate with the outfit of the woman in the photo.

I added bright pink flowers for a fun pop of color. I highlighted the roses on the patterned paper and the neutral colored flowers with the Guava (pink) Gelato from the Mixed Media Kit.

I went monochromatic for my two clean and simple layouts. I has fun mixing things up a bit using pink for a masculine page and blue for a feminine page.

I love this pink/red masculine layout that I created using a photo of my brother and his son as inspiration.

I criss-crossed pieces of washi tape over the background of the patterned paper and then covered it with a layer of the Opaque Medium from the Mixed Media Kit. I then added some color with the Guava Gelato and splatters of mist. I layered die-cuts, tags, stickers and small pieces of patterned paper under my photo and then finished the page with some flowers and rhinestones.

My last layout features my youngest niece. She is such a sweetheart! I pulled the blue papers, packaging and die-cuts from the kits for this page.

This large felt flower from the Flower Add-On adds a wonderful softness to this layout.

The small piece of Prima resin is one of my favorite embellishments from the Main Kit. It made a fantastic bow topper.

I created a small corner embellishment with piece of patterned paper, a die-cut and some rhinestones.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope I have inspired you! I have one more layout to share for the October Sketch Challenge, so please stop by again on the first of the month.

The October Add-Ons, the Mixed Media Kit and the Card Kit are available for purchase now from the C'est Magnifique Store. The October Main Kit will be on sale on September 30th.

We would love to see YOU use our sketch as inspiration for a layout. We have very few rules for our Sketch Challenge. As a matter of fact, we have just one rule, we want your layout to resemble the sketch. Feel free to flip or rotate the sketch, but we do want to look at your layout and be able to see that you used the sketch. Other than that, you are free to use anything you have in your personal stash, and we welcome all styles of scrapbooking.

We will award two prizes for this sketch challenge. The first prize will be a collection of paper, flowers, chipboard, and embellishments selected by C'est Magnfique's owner Deonna. The winner of the prize package will also be able to shop in the C'est Magnifique Store, and have their purchases sent with the prize package, so that means you won't have to pay for shipping!
Our second prize, a $10 gift certificate to the C'est Magnifique Store, will be awarded randomly to one of our participants who obviously uses one of our kits to create their Sketch Challenge layout.

We will also choose 5 (or maybe more) layouts to feature on our blog!
You have the entire month of September to submit your layout.

What do you have to do to enter our sketch challenge?

1. You must be a follower of our blog. It's easy to become follower - see the left sidebar.

2. Create a layout using the sketch, and add it to our blog using the Inlinkz tool below. Please link to the blog post where you have uploaded your layout (not your general blog address). If you do not have a blog, you may link to an online gallery.

The deadline for entering the sketch challenge is midnight, September 30, 2015 (US time).
Have fun with the sketch. We can't wait to see how you use it!

Dana's September Kit Projects

Hi! Dana here today sharing the projects I created with the C'est Magnifique September Kits. I had a blast working with the Cocoa Vanilla Studio Hello Lovely collection. This collection is definitely on trend! I used items from the Main Kit, Flower Add-On, Embellishment Add-On and the Mixed Media Kit for my projects this month.

Personal Supplies: Prima Stencil

This layout features a photo of my oldest daughter, Claire. I mixed the C'est Magnifique Pale Peacock Paint from the Mixed Media Kit with Whipped Spackle and spread it over a Prima stencil to build up some texture on the background of this page. I then added a splash of bright orange using the C'est Magnifique Melon Mist from the Mixed Media Kit.

I cut flowers from the patterned papers in the Main Kit and mixed them with die-cuts and flowers from the Embellishment and Flower Add-Ons to frame my photo.

I found this quote on the bottom of one of the patterned papers from the Main Kit and loved it and just had to add it to this layout. The quote reads; "The whisper of a pretty girl can be heard of the roar of a lion."

This layout features a photo of my Niece Avalynn. She recently had her first ballet recital and was absolutely adorable in her costume!

The embellishments in the kits are so fun! I surrounded my photo with a mix of die-cuts, wood veneer words, fussy cut designs, flowers, ribbon and lace.

I cut several circle designs from the patterned paper and embellished them with enamel dots for a fun design element along the side of the page.

This large white feather butterfly is one of my favorite items from the kit. It has a fantastic glittery sparkle in real life!

Personal Supplies: Black Ink

I took this group of silly photos of my oldest daughter and my Nephew Dylan on a recent family vacation. These kids were two peas in a pod all week! This sweet boy looks so much like my brother it blows my mind. These photos really take me back to my childhood memories of all the great times I had with my brother.

I created my own patterned paper with the Prima Crackle Stamp from the Mixed Media Kit and some black ink. I made the title spot with a die-cut, a fussy cut heart and a flower.

This is my favorite layout of the bunch and features a photo of my sweet Niece Hadassah.

I built this embellishment cluster with a colorful mix of fussy cut papers, die-cuts, flowers and sequins. I'm loving the blue/black/white/orange color palette of this page!

I used the same paint and Whipped Spackle mix that I spread on my first layout here along with the stencil from the Mixed Media Kit. The text adds some fantastic subtle texture to the page. I really love the selection of small embellishments in this kit. They create a fantastic delicate design!

This Fabric Word from Prima is one of my favorite embellishments in this kit and it pairs wonderfully with the polka dot prints present on several of the patterned papers. The Hello Lovely papers have a great patterned strip on the bottom of each page and I used them repeatedly in my designs like this black strip; it made a great anchor for my title spot!

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope I have inspired you! I have one more layout to share for the September Sketch Challenge, so please stop by again on the first of the month.

The September Add-Ons and the Mixed Media and Card Kits are available for purchase now from the C'est Magnifique Store. The September Main Kit will be available for purchase on August 31st.

Dana's August Kit Projects

Hi! Dana here today sharing the projects I created with the C'est Magnfique August Kits. I had a blast working with the Dovecraft Bohemian collection and the unique embellishments found in the kits. I used items from the Main Kit, Flower Add-On, Embellishment Add-On, Mixed Media Kit and the NEW Card Kit for my projects this month.

Personal Supplies: Project Life Cards, Doily, Cardstock, Whipped Spackle, Stencils

This first layout features a photo of my daughter at her 7th birthday party. We had a face painter attend the party and my sweet girl chose a sparkly rainbow design for her face. I wanted the mood of my page to match her joyous expression so I used a lot of bright colors and the things she likes best--flowers, butterflies and lots of sparkle.

This colorful flower cluster contains a mix of blooms from the Main Kit and the Flower Add-On. I filled in the cluster with paper flowers and leaves I cut from the patterned papers in the kit and some white leaves I cut from the product packaging.

I used the mist, paint and embossing powders from the Mixed Media Kit with stencils to create a colorful textured background for this layout.

My second layout features a photo of my niece. She is fearless and I have several photos of her high in a tree. I used one of the Prima photo frames from the Main Kit to crop the photo. The frames have adhesive backs so they are super easy to use.

If you love to fussy cut patterned paper, this kit is a must-have! I filled in my flower cluster with blooms I cut from the paper and a piece of rose trim.

I mixed the yellow paint from the Mixed Media Kit with whipped spackle and spread the medium over the stencil from the Mixed Media Kit to add a bright pop of color to the background of this page.

I created a small envelope album with the new Card Kit. I taped the envelopes together with washi tape and then embellished the envelopes with patterned paper and flowers.

I'm planning to use this album to send a series of letters to someone special.

Lastly, I embellished the canvas book covers from the Mixed Media Kit. To color the canvas I first prepped it with water and then poured the pink mist directly from the bottle over the canvas and let it absorb on its own. I added some yellow highlights with mist from a past kit.

I topped the canvas with paper and fabric flowers, assorted embellishments from the kit and a stamped sentiment.

I hope I have inspired you today! This kit is one of my favorites! I have one more layout to share for the August Sketch Challenge, so please stop by again on the first of the month.

The August Add-Ons and the Mixed Media and Card Kits are available for purchase now from the C'est Magnifique Store. The August Main Kit will be available on July 31st.

Dana's July Kit Projects

Hi! Dana here today sharing the projects I created with the C'est Magnfique July Kits. I had a blast working with the Tim Holtz Correspondence collection. I used items from the Main Kit, Flower Add-On, Embellishment Add-On and Mixed Media Kit for each of my projects.

The B-sides of the Correspondence collection have a wonderful mix of small prints. I love the subtle red polka dots!

I played up the red background color by adding bright red flowers and ribbon.

I had fun with a neutral color palette for this second page. I flipped the fun red specialty Anna Griffin paper from the Embellishment Kit over and placed the white side up to make a decorative photo mat.

I used the chain from the Blue Moon jewelry kit to show the flight path and secured it to the page with small heart brads.

My favorite element from the Correspondence paper pad are these gorgeous red flowers. I used the stencil from the Mixed Media Kit with gesso to add a subtle print to the background. I embellished several of the stars with dots of Liquid Pearls.

For my last project, I created a purse for my daughter from the blue jean pocket and denim strips from the Embellishment Kit.

I attached everything with hot glue so this project came together quick and easy!

I hope you have enjoyed my projects! Thanks so much for stopping by today! I have one more layout created with this kit to share for the July Sketch Challenge. I hope you'll stop by again on the first of the month for the sketch reveal and inspiration from the Design Team!

The July Add-Ons and the Mixed Media Kit are available for purchase now from the C'est Magnifique Store. The July Main Kit will be available on June 30th.

Dana's June Kit Projects

Hi! Dana here today sharing the projects I created with the June Kits. I had a blast working with the gorgeous patterned papers and chipboard from the Deja Vu collection by Blue Fern Studios. I used items from the Main Kit, Flower Add-On, Embellishment Add-On and Mixed Media Kit for each of my projects.

There is a fantastic assortment of gel, paint, mica flakes, glitter and stamps in the June kits. I used them all here to add color and texture to the background of my layout.

I loved the brick pattern on one of the flower packages and used that for a photo mat.

The flowers included in the Main Kit and the Flower Add-On are a fantastic variety of colors, textures and shapes which yields beautiful flower clusters!

I dressed up a notecard with some fussy cuts and piece of Blue Fern Studios chipboard.

There are a lot of flowers, gears and butterflies to cut out of the patterned papers in this kit. I designed this page with a lot of fussy cuts and metal gears from the Prima Stamp-N-Add set from the Mixed Media Kit.

I topped the fussy cuts with blooms from the Flower Add-On. I love the pop of deep pink from the Prima Cherry Blossom Branches!

I created a title for my page using a Prima Wooden ATC, that I backed with patterned paper, and an Authentique journaling card. Both of these items are included in the Embellishment Add-On. I highlighted both pieces with Faber-Castell Ice Texture Gems from the Mixed Media Kit.

I had a lot of fun embellishing this page with Blue Fern Studios Chipboard!

I love that the pieces are large enough to support flowers and buttons!

I created this pink flower from the scallop trim and brad included in the Main Kit.

This paper mache box comes in the Mixed Media Kit. It stands up well to paint! I piled flowers, chipboard, buttons, brads, pins, stickers and a fun zipper trim onto the lid of the box.

I hope you have enjoyed my projects! Thanks so much for stopping by today! I have one more layout to share for the June Sketch Challenge. I hope you'll stop by again on the first of the month for the sketch reveal and inspiration from the Design Team!

The June Add-Ons and the Mixed Media Kit are available for purchase now from the C'est Magnifique Store. The June Main Kit will be available on May 31st.
