The June kit is here! This month we have paper from two different countries. From France, the main line of paper is from Les Papiers de Pandore. Our accent papers are from an Australian company, Meg's Garden. They are the perfect compliment.
If you are a member of C'est Magnifique, your kit should be arriving soon. If not, we have some kits available for purchase in our store. We also have some add-ons and individual items in the store.
Happy Memorial Day everyone. In the forum we've had some tough discussions about what this day means to all of us (in addition to grilling and eating watermelon). I hope you will have some time today to remember those who have given their lives for our safety and freedom.
Here's another look at how one of our design team members used the June kit (which we will reveal in just a couple more days).
I have a favorite place right by my house where I like to take the kids
on the 4-wheeler. It's a pond way back in the woods and on a recent
beautiful spring day we ventured back there and the boys enjoyed
throwing rocks in the water. My little Aspen, however, didn't quite know
what to think about her first real outing. Since finally learning to
sit, I can actually place her on the ground and she can explore her
surroundings. I took several pictures, and they all look pretty similar-
my dainty sweetheart with a look of disgust on her face. I've always
been quite the tomboy, so seeing my daughter already acting like a
"girly girl"...well, it was a bit disheartening! But they all find their
own way in this world, don't they?
I kept to the natural elements in
this kit- the burlap buttons, grassy chipboard, brown and beige tones-
with just a splash of color.
My cousin's daughter during a photo shoot with friends, growing up
entirely too fast! All items on this layout are from C'est Magnifique's
June main kit, with the exception of the Tim Holtz vintage photo
Distress Ink and Tattered Angels Glimmer mist in Olive Green.
I used Tim
Holtz's Pinecone Die to make the yellow and red flowers.
I went crazy with embellishments on this layout. LOL But I really love
how it turned out. The colour scheme is somewhat different to what I
used to do, but I decided to make a yellow layout and yellow it is.

I hope all of you are looking forward to a wonderful weekend! But before the weekend starts, I wanted to give you another look at our June kit. Fi Kenward created this beautiful layout. I just love the way she uses dark backgrounds. It really makes the colors stand out.
This picture was taken way back in the 70's. It's my mum with me
sister with her daughter. I am about 4 months older than her.
All the paper and embellishments are from the main kit.
It's time to give you a look at the paper that we're featuring in our June kit. We are excited to be using two manufacturers that we have not used in past kits........Les Papiers de Pandor from France and Meg's Garden from Australia. If you're interested in adding a paper pack to your kit, or if you'd like to purchase just the paper, you can find it in our store.
Our flower add-on will include flowers from Prima, Manor House, Petaloo, and American Crafts. What a great assortment of flowers! We have a few flower add-ons available in our store. In addition, the flowers are also available individually. They can be found HERE.
Take a look at our Embellishment add-on! It contains Bo Bunny die-cuts, Prima resin shutters, Thickers alphabet, Meg's Garden square doilies, Pink Paislee tags, Jessie James button flowers, and a picket fence from FabScraps. This is a great collection of embellishments! We have a few of these add-ons available in our Store. Some of the items are also available individually.
"In a World of Loneliness I See your Face" by Nadia Cannizzo using the June Kit
* The title of this layout "In a world of loneliness I see your face"
is from one of my favourite songs from Leona Lewis called Bleeding Love
which is playing on my blog at the moment. This song is probably best
suited to a young couple finding love for the first time, but for
me..ever since I had children I dedicate any song that has to do with
love to them.
* I created a garden scene for my 2 girls here since the photo is taken outdoors in our garden.
* The chipboard has been inked with white ink and the edges with brown ink.
* I turned the yellow rose ribbon in the Flower Add On into a flower.

Today we'd like to share with you a few more layouts from our design team using the May kit, which features paper from 7 Dots. You will also see items from the May add-ons (7 Dots add-on, flower add-on, and embellishment add-on), We still have a few kits and some add-ons available in the STORE.
So this is Johnnie, my son's home health aide, and his little boy at the
rodeo here in San Antonio. Johnnie is getting a new apartment and
wanted something to hang on the wall and he asked me to create a layout.
He didn't want anything girlie on it (flowers, etc) which made it
really hard on me. I just can't do a layout without flowers, lol. (and
wait til he sees that appliqué, hehe).
like to layer stuff. The journaling pieces from Prima are perfect for
this. I have used two different ones underneath the photo. I have
scrapped a photo of my niece on her second birthday and softened the
colours of the photo to fit the papers.
I received this photo from niece and the color was so bad, but I loved
the photo - these 2 little sweeties laying together on the floor. So I
applied a vintage action to it and I really like how it turned out. No
fancy techniques on this one. I just let the beautiful background of
this paper from 7 Dots do all the work. You will love this kit! I
mixed some of the Blueberry Cobbler Shimmerz (love that name!) with some
gesso to color the Dusty Attic piece.
This is one of my favourite pictures my sister in law sent me of my
brother and my baby niece. I just love the expression on their faces,
I used one of the pieces from the Quadrille paper to
mat this photo and used my Grand Nestabilities Circle for the ring was
cut also from the papers. I have used a few of the stickers here as
well including the border strip just underneath the photo. I used gesso
on the metal corner and then painted with the shimmerz before sanding
it back of slightly. The journaling has been written on the Evidence
tag poking out behind the photo, I adhered this to some paper as well.
Rolled flowers were made from paper scraps using my sizzix rolled rose
die cut and I have cut some of the pieces from the white appliques and
placed them in the flower clusters and to finish it off I decided to add
the bow down the bottom to finish it all off.
Thanks for looking! We just love the many ways you can use this kit.
If you participate in this Case File, drop us a note and let us know. We'd love to see your layout.
C'est Magnifique was also spotted on the Want2Scrap Blog on National Scrapbook Day. We love to carry their products in our kits. The May kit contained 'Charlie's Birdcage' and they featured the design team layouts using the birdcage.

Having a best friend is one of the greatest joys in the world! This
photo of my niece and her best friend was such a great one for the 7Dots
Wonderland paper. I embossed the Want2Scrap chipboard letters included
in the main kit and painted them with the Blueberry Cobbler Shimmerz,
also included and dabbed on some gesso. The lace trim got a Shimmerz
treatment as did the Dusty Attic chipboard.

I've created another layout for my little girl, Aspen. She truly is such
a joy- always smiling and laughing- I just couldn't help but get these
series of photos down on a page. I tried to stick to a black &
pink color scheme, with variations of the two colors. I hand-cut all of
the hearts using the elementary school method of folding my paper in
half and cutting out a half-heart- remember doing that for Valentine's
Day? Lol...I then rumpled them and inked them a bit. The little banners
at the top of my page were cut from one of the journaling spots included
in the 7 Dots Studio add-on, using the Prima stick pins to embellish
them. Finally, I used the Prima mask to create my flourishes in the two
corners of my layout, using some gesso with a touch of pink spray mist.

This is a picture of my 2 girls and I and about the hard days as a mum of 2 little girls.
It is not always easy! -I
used the lace trim that came in the kit, together with torn pieces of
paper to overlap them and create an interesting background with gesso.
This adds texture and depth. -The Want2Scrap chipboard alphabet
that came in the main kit, was left bare and inked with brown ink as it
gives I quite liked the colour and it matched the papers -The flowers were also inked to create a uniform look. -I dabbed gesso on the Want2Scrap birdcage to blend it in with the other colours.
All material is from the May kit.
We hope you'll check back tomorrow when our May "Bits and Pieces" goes live!
It's time to announce the winner of our April Sketch Challenge. The layouts this month were amazing! In a random draw, this number was selected:
Congratulations goes to Paula Jennings for being selected the winner of the $10.00 gift certificate to our store. Here's the layout Paula created using the sketch:
Now comes the difficult part of choosing which layouts to feature this month. I can tell you that this was really not an easy task, because all the layouts were amazing this month. Any 5 of you could have been chosen. In the end, these are the layouts that are featured this month:
Don't Worry About the Future ...Be Happy by Karen Tamir
Happy May Day everyone! To start off the month, we have brand new sketch for you. This sketch was created by our design team member Nadia Cannizzo.
You do not need to be a member of C'est Magnifique to participate in our sketch challenge. It is open to anyone! You
are welcome to use any supplies you have, but if you are
the winner and it is obvious that you used any one of our kits - the
prize will be DOUBLED!!!
The winner of the challenge, selected by a random draw, will win a $10
gift certificate (or $20, as mentioned above if you use a kit) from
C'est Magnifique which you can use to shop in our store.
As an added bonus, from the entries for this
challenge, we will select a few layouts to "feature". One of the
featured layouts will receive this beautiful La Blanche Victorian Swirl stamp from C'est Magnifique.
Here are some layouts that our design team created using the sketch and the May Kit and Add-ons:
This is a layout about my eldest daughter and her oldest cousin. She is
so lucky to have her, because she is a really good girl and looks after
her really well. Maria, responds to her so nicely and they just get
along and give me a bit of a break especially we we go out ! LOL!
* I inked the chipboard cage with the Prima mask and white ink to give it more detail.
* The flowers were inked with the Smimmerz ink from the main kit to blend them in together.
* I doubled up the banner from the 7Dots Stickers in the add on, with a banner paper punch from my stash.
This is Kevin when we went to Los Angelos a while ago. The one thing
you can always count on with Kevin is the 'thumb's up' sign - he's been
doing it since he was a teenager and I'm so glad that he continues using
this action; no matter how hard his life is.
"SING" by Valerie Serfozo
I wanted to try out a new lens recently and focused on
this little bird that looks like he's singing. I decided to base the
colors on the layout based on the little bit of orange in his feathers.
The white Teresa Collins flower was a little larger than I wanted, so I
used Beverly's tip to remove a few layers. I zapped it with my heat
gun, which made it easy to remove some of the bottom layers. I also
made the Manor House orange flower smaller by removing the bottom two
layers. I painted the birdhouse using some gold paint.
I used a photo of my mum, not sure how old she was and tried to pull the
yellow colour from the papers by using the Theresa Collins packing. I
sanded off the printed contents and thought it worked it beautifully
with the page. I also spritzed the applique with glimmer mist to blend.
The bird cage was an awesome accent to work with but I didn't want to
lose it by cover my photo with it so I opted to use it this way instead.
I created this layout for my adorable little nephew, River. He just
recently celebrated his first birthday- and I just cannot resist a sweet
cake face! SO- I started out by layering some papers to create a
distressed, textured background. Now, I definitely like to get the most
out of my paper, so when I layer one paper on top of the other, I cut
out the backs and use them either to create another smaller layer on top
or as scrap bits elsewhere on the page. That is what I did here- even
though it appears as if I've used several sheets of paper. To alter the
chipboard birdcage and letters, I first painted them with gesso, then
used my finger to add some of the Shimmerz paint included in the kit,
followed by touching it up by brushing on some pink & sandy-colored
ink. I also used the Shimmerz paint & some gesso to alter the large
Teresa Collins flower, and even more gesso to dress up the additional
flowers, chipboard pieces, and gems. In the end, I created a piece that
has just as much "frosting" as the handsome little fellow in the photo.
Now it's your turn. Please use the tool below to submit your layout.
We look forward to seeing what you create. Remember, you have the
entire month of May to work on this.
