January Sketch Challenge

Happy New Year!  We would like to help you get started with a new sketch for January.  Our sketch designer, Michele Singh, has once again created a beautiful sketch for you to use.  What better way to start the new year than to take some time for yourself and do a little scrapping?   We know you all love give-aways, so head over to Michele's blog Design Honey, before January 6th to sign up for her giveaway!

Our Beautiful January Sketch

Three members of our Design Team and our Guest Designer have created a layout using this sketch and the January Kit, "Fights of Fancy":

"Love" by Keren Tamir

I used the January sketch as inspiration for this layout. There were 2 different pinkish tones in this Kit. The one I used in this layout is more of a peachy color. I made a layout about my husband and I using lots of peach colored embellishments. I love the cherub at the top holding the heart. Its so precious.

 "Beautiful Family" by Beverly Sams

The young couple here is the one from my layout “Dream” a few years later with their young boys. I thought the blues of their clothing were perfect matches for the papers and flowers in C’est Magnifique’s January kit. I first sprayed some turquoise Tattered Angels glimmer mist and immediately applied texture paste with a palette knife over a Martha Stewart stencil so that the paste would absorb some of the color. I then brushed white paint onto the raised areas of the paste after it dried.

"Spring Was Calling" by Gerry van Gent

Gerry is our January Guest Designer and she rotated the sketch to create this beautiful layout!

"Smiling Faces" by Brit Sviggum

I used this picture on last year`s Christmas card. I took a whole series of pictures, and I like them so much that I still keep making pages with them :D.

Hopefully you have been filled with inspiration and are ready to get started using the sketch yourself!  The sketch challenge is open to anyone and you may use any scrappy supplies that you have on hand.  No restrictions, no themes, just a sketch to follow.  You can rotate it, or use it as is.

We will have a prize package to award the winner, selected by a random draw.  Here is the prize package Leslie has put together for this month.  The winner of this prize will also be able to shop in the C'est Magnifique Store and their purchase will be shipped for free along with the prize - and who doesn't love free shipping?

Our second prize, a $10 gift certificate to the C'est Magnifique Store, will be randomly be awarded to one of the sketch participants who obviously creates their sketch layout using a C'est Magnifique Kit.

Lastly, we will be choosing 5 (or more) layouts to feature on our Blog when we announce the winners.

What do you have to do to enter our sketch challenge?

1.  You must become a follower of our blog.  It's easy to become follower -see the left sidebar.

2.  Create a layout using the sketch, and add it to our blog using the Inlinkz tool below.  Please link to the blog post where you have uploaded your layout  (not your general blog address). If you do not have a blog, you may link to an online gallery.
